Irene Jeanette Maiorana was born Irene J. Alfi from Vincent and Angelina Alfi in Brooklyn, NY. She was one of five children, Sadie, Salvatore, Josephine, and Vincent were her cherished brothers and sisters. Irene married on October 11, 1958 to James Maiorana and they had two children Amelia and Anthony.

Irene was an extraordinary person that was loved by those who had the good fortune to know her, but it was her kind heart, patience, sincerity, compassion, and her smart and sarcastic sense of humor that will be missed, but remembered by all of us.

I will miss you so much my dear sister Irene. I will always remember how we laughed and enjoyed our times together; sometimes we cried; we could always talk and lean on each other. You were so special to me, a great sister and friend too. I admired you in so many ways; your kindness, your caring, your competence, and beauty, inside and out. You were also the most gracious and wonderful cook I knew. I will always remember and treasure these gifts from you.

I will miss you dear sister. May you rest in God's love and peace. love, Jo.

Mom, you have always been the most special, beautiful person (inside and out) and most important person in my life and you still are. I'm so sad to have to live life without you. I miss your laughter and your sarcasm so much. I miss you terribly.
I lost my mother, my best friend, but I carry all the precious memories with me forever. Mom, you are forever in my heart.

Mom, I love you and I miss you so much.

Your daughter, Amy

Aunt Irene is one of my favorite Aunts. She was always so welcoming and happy to see us. She would always open her home to anyone, even teach us to cook, and fill her kitchen and her day. She could cook! When I think of her, I think of her happines, love and spirit, she was always ready to laugh and love. She has been and always will be a symbol of beauty and elegance. Even though she should have been put on the highest pedestal, she never put herself above anyone. Her happiness and spirit of life was so strong you could not help but laugh with her, even through the hard times. She has given me so much happiness, love, and shown me how to have the love of life. She will always be a standard I strive to live by. I love you Aunt Irene.

My Mom, best friend, psychiatrist, and the person that kept me confident and always made me believe that all will be alright regardless of my sometimes self destructive actions. Thank you for all you left with me and I will use these qualities the best I can.

I love you with all I have and you will always be missed.

Your Son, Anthony

To my amazing and beautiful mother, Christmas brings back so many wonderful memories of when we were kids helping you decorate while listening to your Christmas music that you loved, and continued on. I miss the many beautiful memories and I miss you. Me, Dad and Marc had Christmas Eve dinner with Tony and Rachael. It was so nice to get together, just wish that you could be here with us. Mom, I don't have the words to tell you how much I love and miss you. We all love and miss you so much. You're always in my heart. ❤️
