His Life
May 12, 2013

He was born February 2, 1931 in Meriwether County Georgia to the late Willis Jake Jackson and Ruth Parks Jackson.  He attended Elementary and High School in Luthersville, GA.  Three sisters preceded him in death: Lurlean (Edro) Echols, and Louise (Lynell) Price and Mae Lou Jackson; one brother: Gilbert (Mary) Jackson; five step sisters: Hattie Mae (Charlie) Marshall, Vella (Jack) Marshall, Louise (Junior) Johnson, Parthenia (Alfonta) People and Berlenda (Harold) Martin; five step brothers: Leroy (Nellie) Darden, Albert (Willie Nell) Darden, Charlie Lewis (Louise) Darden, Robert Lee Darden and Cosha (Eddie Jean) Darden.

Isaac Nute Jackson, Sr. joined New Mount Bethel Baptist Church at an early age.   He served as an usher, choir member, and deacon.  He was united in holy matrimony to Verlene S. Jackson on January 3, 1953.  To this union, five children were born:  Isaac (Cheryl) Jackson, Jr., Decatur, GA; Patricia (Frank) Andrews, Gay, GA; Willie James Jackson, Luthersville, GA; Earlene (Mark) Ackey, Newnan, GA; and Brenda (Joseph) Farmer, Morningside, MD.  He has three step sisters:  Mattie Jones, Ellen (Curtis) Fraizer, and Mae Lou Stepps of Atlanta, GA.

He retired from Delta Airlines after twenty plus years.  He enjoyed his vegetable gardens, planting flowers, and was a good provider for his family and community.  He ensured that their needs were met. “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children”.  Proverbs 13:22

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife, five children, three step sisters, fourteen grand children, nineteen great grand children, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
