May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow".

Navy Anthem

(Captain Alfred H. Miles U.S.N. and Charles A. Zimmerman)

Anchors Aweigh, my boys, Anchors Aweigh.
Farewell to college joys, we sail at break of day-ay-ay-ay.
Through our last night on shore, drink to the foam,
Until we meet once more:
Here's wishing you a happy voyage home.

Stand, Navy, out to sea, Fight our battle cry;
We'll never change our course, So vicious foe steer shy-y-y-y.
Roll out the TNT, Anchors Aweigh.
Sail on to victory
And sink their bones to Davy Jones, hooray!

Stand Navy, down the field,
Sail set to the sky
We'll never change our course
So Army you steer shy-y-y-y

Roll up the score Navy
Anchors Aweigh
Sail, Navy, down the field,
And sink the Army, sink the Army gray.

Today is 12 years since you went to heaven….I am going to plant some lavender today in honor of you as a symbol that you are resting peacefully. Lavender is supposed to relax you and I know you must be relaxed and at peace. This is my first shot growing lavender so if you are watching over me can you help me out and make sure it grows! Love and miss you Dad!

Happy Birthday Grandpa, I know you’re celebrating with the angels, so we’re celebrating you down here. I want you to know you are very much alive in my heart as well as grandma, you guys were the definition of soulmates. I know true love isn’t Romeo and Juliet it’s Grandma and Grandpa who grew old together. You guys both built a life together on earth with dedication to each other and you guys endured whatever came your guys way. You guys set an example of what a relationship is all about. I love you guys, Happy Birthday Grandpa!!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday to the man that made me the person that I am today.  Thank you for guiding me and giving me the ethics that have made me successful. I have learned so many things from you. The family values you created carry on with me. You showed unconditional love that is unmeasurable. Your apple trees have produced a ton of apples this year! And they look beautiful. I know you would be amazed by them. And they make great apple pies! Give Cocoa a big hug and kiss for me. I always remember the day I brought her to meet you at the VA hospital. You held her on your chest and you told her “ you are going to have a great life”! And I said “s he already does”! And she did have an amazing life..yet too short. Someday we will all be together. In the meanwhile, keep watching over all of us and guiding us. I love and miss you
