OBITUARY OF JAMES EMERY SIROLA

James Emery Sirola, 77 years of age, of Osoyoos, B.C., passed away peacefully at McKinney Place, Oliver, B.C. on Sunday, March 13, 2016.
A celebration of Jim Sirola's life will be held at 11:00 o'clock on Friday, April 1st, 2016, at Osoyoos United Church, 7814 Spartan Avenue, Osoyoos, B.C. and officiated by Rev. Steve Hershey. Interment will be held at a later date in Canora, Saskatchewan. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Ron Fitzpatrick at Graham Funeral Home, 5920 Kootenay Street, Oliver, B.C.
James was born on September 10, 1938, in Budapest, Hungary to the parents of Janos and Janosne (Jaray Erzsebet) Sirola. He was a soft spoken, gentle, and kind man. He attended university in Budapest and was on their swim team. At the age of 25, he came to Canada for business opportunities. James set up his denturist practise in Vancouver and this is where he met the love of his life, Sonia Skoretz, in 1973.
They were married for 42 years. They were avid travelers spending several winters in West Palm Beach, Florida at their condo and made yearly trips to their summer home on the Danube River in Hungary. Hunting and gun collecting and refurbishing were his hobbies. He also enjoyed oil painting.
James is survived by his brothers-in-law Adam Skoretz and Domain (Lillian) Skoretz as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
James is preceded in death by his loving and dear wife, Sonia; his parents, Janos and Janosne Sirola; his older brothers, Jozeph Sirola and Janos Sandor Sirola; his sister-in-law, Irene Skoretz; and his parents-in-law Alexander and Anna Skoretz.
