I will always remember my Mom, Jane Green, as a wonderful and loving mother, who set an example for me and my three sisters as an independent thinker, who valued education and respected our ideas. Even went back to college to finish her Bachelor's degree in her forties. She showed us how much she loved us by her actions. We all felt so loved by her, as did her grandchildren. I think of her often, and she lives on in my heart.

Love and an Eduction

July 12, 2016

Jane was my mother, and she often told us kids that she owed us two things:  love and an education.  Her love for us kids seemed boundless.  Always.  She and dad followed through with  promise of an education for all of us, as far as we wished to take it.  And, she, herself, set an example for us, by finishing her college degree while we were still living in the house and enrolled in school ourselves.  After finishing the dinner she religiously prepared for us almost every night, she would sit and study diligently for hours in the evening in our family room, in our sight and in our company.  She was smart, informed, and curious, and set a great example.  We "kids", now 62-69 years old,  were very  fortunate to have had her for our Mom.
