John A. Supancic, Jr. 85 of San Diego, CA passed away after a brief illness on April 25, 2024. Born on Dec. 14, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY. Graduated in 1961 with a B. S. in Chemical Engineering. Attended the US Naval Academy graduating Navy Officer Candidate Training School as Lieutenant in 1961. After serving in the Navy, he worked for GE on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. He also worked for U.S. Samia Corp, Van Roll Isola, and United Technologies. He climbed Mt Rainier, Mt St Helen, Mt Whitney, and other "14-ers" throughout the country and was an avid skier. John loved to travel and camp with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Lynne P. Minor her children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his first wife, Lydia Cannon and their children and grandchildren. He is preceeded in death by his parents John and Josephine Supancic and his second wife, Sylvia Gerrit Van Balen, and stepson Matthew Dunn.
He is survived by his children , Cathy Catozzi, Eric Supancic, Kurt Supancic and grandchildren Abigail Miglorie, Bethany Miglorie, and Marlee Supancic. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Supancic.
He is survived by his step-children, Andrea Winter, Katie Winter, Erin Winter Breve, Jeffrey Dunn, Brian Dunn, and his step grandchildren, Julianna Winter, Cassandra Winter, Lilah Dunn, Connor Dunn, and Noemi Breve, Ellie Dunn, and Rose Dunn.
