His Life

Joshua Michael Caldwell

February 27, 2019

Josh was born January 16, 1989 in Upstate New York, Syracuse to be exact. The temps were below zero! When he was 2 1/2 months old, he and I took off in an old rattle trap car and headed to Dallas, Texas. Drove straight through, popping a bottle in his mouth at 70 miles an hour whenever needed. We lived in Texas until February 1998. During our time in Texas he was very active in soccer and quite a good player as well. During that time he acquired a brother, Christopher Nassef who was 3 years younger and a sister, Jessica Nassef who was 5 years younger. He was a great big brother. He was quite the entertainer and kept us all on our toes with his antics.

From there we moved to Hoover, Alabama. He attended Bumpus elementary school. After his step dad and I split, we moved to Chelsea, Alabama, where he attended Chelsea High School. He did not finish school and instead opted to learn Auto mechanics. He worked at Dairy Queen, National Tire and Battery, Charter, and Firestone. It was at Firestone that he began acquiring specialized certificates. He learned a lot and became a very good mechanic, most of his knowledge being self taught. He still worked at Firestone at the time of his death.

He spent a lot of time and made many friends in Trussville, Alabama. He loved the street racing scene and mud riding. He would take my vehicles mud riding, unbeknownst to me, sometimes damaging them and fixing them before I saw them. He dumped my Isuzu Rodeo on its side and for weeks I wondered why the doors would not open on that side.
