One funny summer day

January 14, 2014
I have so many stories of crazy things we did as children I couldn't figure out which story I wanted to share. The first thing that popped in my mind was a funny story. I was over Joys house it was the middle of summer Joy had to be about 11 or 12 years old. During this time she was so infatuated with having bigger breast so she decided to stuff her bra with some of Linda's old shoulder pads. So there we were outside jumping rope when I saw the shoulder pad slowly rise for underneath Joys shirt. I screamed Joy look!! She looked down and saw the shoulder pad she screamed so loud and ran in the house. No one noticed it but us until she ran away like she was on fire waving her arms. Even as adults we laughed at that story it never got old. I'll forever miss your smile and laugher the nights we laughed so hard that our stomachs ached for relief. Things will never be the same, but thanks for all the memories that I'll continue to play over an over in my head forever. Love you apple head until we meet again.

Our last words

January 10, 2014

The last time I saw you, we were at the hospital and as I waited for my name to be called, my head was down as I read, I never saw you come pass me.  When they called me and I responded I heard you say thats my cousin I know that voice.  I walked up to you and gave you a kiss.  You said, thank you for coming and I said I will see you when their through.  As I listened to the doctors speak about the donation process, I never grew fearful because I knew I was going to be helping someone I loved.  As I prepared to give blood and we laughed at how bad our veins were, I never feared the process, I was going to be helping a beautiful young lady live longer.  As I write knowing that we never got a chance to finish the process.  I say to God hold her tight and tell her I was never afraid. If she was still here, I would stand strong as I know her smile and our conversations would fill me and make me whole.

I will see you again Joy and we will finish our laughs and our smiles,

Love you always,

Cousin Cassandra
