Kathi: Thank you for being my mentor, my friend, and for giving me my start on Capitol Hill. I will miss that bellowing laugh, that million dollar smile and your constant teasing which was always in good fun. You have left such an indelible imprint on so many of us. So long my friend and hopefully we'll meet again.

Thank you Kathi for giving a young arrogant, know-it-all attorney from Miami the opportunity to work on the Hill. Thank you for having my back, serving as a mentor, and making me smile when I needed it most. I would have never made it in DC without you. I am forever grateful for the positive impact you had on my life. I will never forget that laugh! My heart goes out to your family.

We will miss most about Kathi is her optimism and embracing spirit. She was such a joy to be around and we will never forget the hospitality she provided us during Obama's inaugural. We pray now for her family and friends. Kathi is in a good place right now and we are grateful.
