God took a piece of my heart to heaven when he called you home. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. I hope you know how much I love you and things won't be the same without you here. You taught me so much about faith and love.No one else had ever invested the time with me the way you and grandma did. I'm happy for you that you are there with you're beloved wife and your family, but I want you to know that I miss you greatly and I will until we meet again. All my love, your grand daughter, Lisa

The day you went home to heaven I saw you, I kissed your head and told you I love you papa, that was just mins before you left this earth. I will always remember your stories and your blessings at every meal. I also remember how proud you were of me that I had became a nurse. I know your in heaven with mom give her a big hug from me. Hey papa, I am so happy I got to see you a couple months ago, and very thankful I got to come up and see you yesterday morning before you went home to heaven. I'm so sorry I haven't been able to be around these last few years, it's been busy with my sons and all. I hope you know how much I love you and how much I miss when I was growing up to hear you say " Hi angel, how are you doing?" Boy how much I have missed that. I know your in a better place but you will truly be missed and never forgotten! Please give my dad and hug and kiss for me. Until I see you again I love you! Love forever and always your grand daughter Tiffany

Leonard Apple, you were one of God's angels here on earth and now you are one in heaven. It has been an honor meeting you, talking with you, listening to your stories, embracing in your hugs, being able to hear your prayers in family get togethers, and I take special pride in being one of the many to receive your ever abundant love upon entering or exiting the room! May heaven rejoice in your homecoming and may we, still here, take comfort in knowing that you will be just as eager to give those hugs and words of love when it is our time to come home. Lisa has told me about church as a little girl and how you and her Nani were big influences in her life. Give Helen a big hug for me and my Mama too!!!! Until then Papa.... enjoy your heaven!!!! We will never forget you for you are still, and always will be, in our prayers, minds and hearts!!!

My dear Uncle Leonard, such a wonderful man. It was a true blessing to have you in my life. You sat with me at my moms bed side as she was leaving this world. You held my hand and prayed with me, we watched her as she left this world and you held me close and told me we would see her again. I know that you were welcomed by the good Lord and all your family. Know that we all loved you very much and I will miss you. I loved that you called me booger and that you always had a hug and story for me. We will meet again and I know you will watch over all of us until then.

Grandpa or as we all called him PAPA (pawpaw) matter fact everyone that loved him referred to him with that special name.
I can write a book of memories because I had him all to myself for 7 years. He taught me that you watch the news at 10pm, but at 9:30 you got ready. This meant you made a folded in half peanut butter sandwich and a glass of milk to wash it down. It was the nightly ritual!
When we watered the garden there was always amazing moments of rain.(he would spray the hose into the air and tell you it was raining)
He taught me how to be an entrepreneur I sold him rocks that sparkled and back scratches of course he got the best rates. Then when I was married one day we were over visiting and he took Randy and I in the basement and showed us those rocks that he still had saved.
True Love that was one of his greatest gifts he taught-- I don't think he ever stopped thinking about Nonnie (grandma) even though she had been in heaven for years. I remember him telling me when grandma says jump I don't just jump I say, " How high honey how high!!" He loved her with all his heart and would do anything for her.
He loved to tell me to marry a rich man, but when I brought the man I was going to eventually marry to meet him. He saw that his riches came in the form of his love for me, his love for God, and his love for family. He loved him as much as I did and that meant the world to me. He probably never knew that there were so many traits of him that I saw in my husband. I think I always looked to my Papa as both a grandfather and a father. He taught me about loving and serving God. I use to go to church with him every Sunday. He took me to all the special services too. He took most of his grandchildren sometimes I think that is why he started driving the bus for the church so he had more room for all of us.
He taught us all the love for music especially gospel and country. He played that guitar at church every Sunday and it made all the grandkids want to be on that platform. So we all started singing. Something you could tell made him very proud. He had a way of making everyone feel special mine was when he would say, "There is my first grandbaby! no one will ever take her place." I love you Papa and no one will ever take your place. Thank you for all the gifts you taught me and for helping to make me who I am today. Enjoy those streets of gold you deserve it!
I know when you arrived in heaven it was a day of REJOICING!
