A daughter of the late Mrs. Betty Meadows Thornton, Mrs. Evans was born in Columbus, GA, and attended Carver High School. She also studied Nursing at Meadows College. She was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Enoch Evans, and a sister, Janice Meadows.

Surviving her departure with cherished memories, include: her loving and devoted daughters, Tameshia Mann (Chastia) and Anjelica Conley (Antonio); six grandchildren, Niana Davis, Aniya Davis, Ayanna Conley, Ay'Miyah Conley, Ajianna Conley and Antonio Conley, Jr.; two brothers, Bobby Meadows (Winter) and Dalfus Meadows; three sisters, Lillie Jackson (Benjamin), Barbara Meadows (Cunningham) and Sandra Austin (Roger); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
