Goodbye to one of the dearest and sweetest people I've known. A true gentleman with a warm heart and kind face. A craftsman of beautiful things made with heart, discipline and care, a man of quiet strength, devastatingly sharp wit, astounding patience, perseverance and generosity. I feel so grateful to have known you and been able to call you uncle in this life. Thank you. I will miss you Uncle Manfred!

We recall with fond memories the holidays when the entire family was together. Manfred always had a good time laughing, joking and playing cards. Whenever Linda saw him she kidded with him and called him her boyfriend, which made him laugh and tell her to behave herself. Manfred was a man of many talents and was always willing to help. We remember Manfred and uncle Robert coming to the house to help our father with repairs. We will miss him but we are comforted knowing he is now in God's care. - Linda, Walter & Linda

I removed the keepsake from its special place and took a long look at it. My Grandfather's Gold Retirement Watch, not as brilliant as it once was and certainly not the same as when I wore it almost daily. Happily, I was wearing it when I met Mr. Hohmann for the first time. I watched him closely as he deliberately studied the Bulova with his discerning eye. I like to think that the sentimental aspect, my connection to my Grandfather, caught his attention as much as the manufacturer or even the quality of the object itself. All these years later, having known him, his wife and children, I'm absolutely sure of it. The genuine article: a real gentle man, a poignant memory................

Pop... a man of many talents, a willing teacher of his craft and originator of "Hohmann Quality" of excellence. You displayed a sense of serenity and humor which belied all the difficulties of your journey to this land, for which we are humbly blessed to have experienced through your sharing. You will be be forever missed and remembered.

The day I lost you, is the day I lost my most cherished hero. You were my best advisor and mentor, the greatest teacher in humility, humbleness, patience and perseverance, the perfect role model of goodness, kindness, and honesty. A man of quiet spoken words but powerful words of wisdom and the world's greatest Dad. Pop, you showed me how to love without end and you gave endless love. I have a huge hole in my heart that can only be filled with memories of your love. You will be forever missed. I love you and know we will one day be together again.

I was very fond of Mr. Hohmann, my friend and neighbor for over 42 years. He was always so willing to listen and give me advice on multitudes of house projects that were too overwhelming to accomplish on my own. And there was always fun, laughter, and of course the end result was right! All the Ryans will miss the twinkle in his eye and the laughs we shared.

A sincere and honest man who always took the time to listen. I will miss his sly and mischievous laugh and his pleasant way. Too bad we lived so far away from each other. I am proud to have had such an uncle. He will always have a place in my heart and in my thoughts. Anita, Curt and Isabelle, Germany
