Hi Marc, I lost a very close and very unique friend last year. Your friendship is something that can not be described, except by those who knew you well. You were a person of privacy, yet a man who was willing to crack open that door to intimate friends at the most of unexpected times. I treasured that quality of your soul, but you were taken from us totally by surprise and way too early. Yet surprise was who you were. Your were true to yourself to the end. It is the one time I wished that you opened your door all the way. You were loved and respected by many and my world is a sadder place. However, I feel blessed to have known you for the man you were and the friend you were. Shalom my friend, DC

Dear Marc, You were the best of friends, When we passed each other in airport hallways, you always had that "look of mischief" on your face. We would stop, chat and laugh our butts off. I considered you among my best friends at empire, losing you is difficult for all of us. You will be forever in my heart and in my most pleasant memories of my life. With you gone, things have finally "Blown". DC

Marc.... I will never forget the many aviation conversations we had over the 10 years I knew you. I always admired you for being able to do all you did. I cannot thank you enough for all the contributions you made to the team at Florida Executive Realty. Gods Speed on your flight to eternal life. May God continue to bless you there as he did here.

Our greatest fear should not be of failure, but of succeeding at something that doesn't really matter. DL Moody Marc made a huge difference in people's lives and succeeded at things that mattered, things of the heart.

Besides sharing the same name Marc and I had many common interests. I will miss the many conversations and the laughter. Marc will always remain in my thoughts

I knew Marc for many years as a family friend since he was good friends with my sister and her husband, Carmellia and Doug Loyd. Thanks to Marc's wonderful generosity and his mutual love of family we shared many meals and attended many plays at the Straz Center, Halloween parties, Mickey's Very Merry Christms, and lunches after church on Sunday. His impeccable sense of dress was sometimes ruined by the sticky hands of a couple of Loyd toddlers. He took it all in stride. But I was only on the periphery of Marc's friendship until he needed a nurse to administer his meds at home. I went to Marc's house twice weekly, started an IV, prepared and infused the meds. But there was much more to it. I think Marc was genuinely glad to see me appear in his doorway then hang his "go go juice" as he called it. He looked forward to the extra energy it gave him. I told him I would find some go go boots for him one day if he would dance in them-he laughed. Not a chance, he said! We both enjoyed our visits during my time there. We talked, told stories and laughed. I held his hand and provided support. Sometimes rubbed his feet. He didn't want to let go of my hand when it was time to go. I had a feeling our visits we're a bright spot in his day. We started and ended every visit with a hug and a smile and a kiss on his forehead or cheek which was reciprocated by him. He warmed my heart. I probably got as much of an uplifting feeling after our visits as he did. Marc was an amazing, warm, kind and loving man who will be missed forever. I'm glad I was able to help him during final 6 weeks. He was alert and smiling even on the last day I saw him, only 4 days before he passed. I knew he was suffering but my focus was to distract him, lift his spirits while giving the medication therapy. I know I will NEVER forget Marc Stern. Ben, you had quite a brother!! My heart goes out to you. Marc was very special and will never be forgotten.

Although we never met Marc, Ben made him come to life for us when he talked about his brother and best friend. I had the pleasure of having phone conversations with Marc a few times and the sincerity in his voice came through. Our hearts, prayers and thoughts are with you, Tanya and your family at this time of great grief and loss.

WE REMEMBER THEM by Rabbi Jack Riemer At the rising of the sun and at its going down We remember them. At the blowing of the wind and the chill of winter We remember them. At the opening of the buds and the rebirth of spring We remember them. At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer We remember them. At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn We remember them. At the beginning of the year and when it ends We remember them. As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now a part of us, As we remember them. When we are weary and in need of strength We remember them. When we are lost and sick at heart We remember them. When we have joy we crave to share We remember them. When we have decisions that are difficult to make We remember them. When we have achievements that are based on theirs We remember them. As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now a part of us, As we remember them. Marc, you will forever be remembered! I pray you are resting comfortably in your heavenly father's arms. May God bless you forever! Ben, Tanya & Doug M, you all were the light in Marc's world! I know he was grateful for each of you!

I only met Marc once when Ben & Tanya were renewing their wedding vows. But in that brief time I saw a warm, generous & humorous human being. I could see why Ben admired you so much. Marc, you will be sorely misssed. Your time here on Earth all too brief. Rest easy, brother.

People who fly say that it gives you a rush and that it makes you feel powerful. When I asked Marc what he loved about flying he told me it was the camaraderie with the crew that brought him joy. I wasn't surprised to learn that Marc had positively touched so many lives because it was relationships that he valued above all else. I was honored to know him and will remember him always. Marc, may your journey be light and your memory be in love.

When I think about Marc I can't help but think of the "Ripple Effect" and a related Poem: "When we focus our energy towards constructing a passionate meaningful life, we are tossing a pebble into the World, creating a beautiful ripple effect of inspiration. When one person follows a dream, tries something new or takes a daring leap, everyone nearby feels that energy, and before to long they are making their own daring leaps and thereby inspiring yet another circle" - Marc's ripple effect will live on forever... You were a great friend to me for 25 years, a respected colleague and simply the best "wing man" our training program ever could have asked for. I am forever grateful that you were and will remain part of my life. Doug
