This memorial website was created in memory of our beloved Husband, Brother, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Inlaw, Cousin, lifelong mentor, teacher and guardian, Elder (Prof.) Monday Benson Abasiattai who slept peacefully in the Lord on December 9, 2013 after a brief illness.
We will remember him forever.
THE MAN MONDAY BENSON ABASIATTAI
A father and mentor to many, a scholar, a man of integrity, PROF lived through his years fully occupied, he had no dull moment. He had excellent interpersonal skills, loved teaching, and counseling and never looked down on anyone. Our Daddy lived an accomplished life, spending a lot of time with the less-privileged, giving out much of his time and substance.
FAMILY LIFE
In 1965, the late Monday Benson Abasiattai met and fell in love with Miss Affiong Sam Ekpoh (now Mrs Affiong Abasiattai). They got married 4th March 1967, and are blessed with five children (Emem, Aniekan, Ekaete-Alice, Ini and Mfon), and Ten grand-children.
Prof doted greatly on his children and grand-children. It is noteworthy that Prof was a role model and mentor to all members of his nuclear and extended family. He spared nothing to provide the best education and moral guidance as a very loving father to everyone and proved his love to all. He was a true philanthropist, and a sincere leader.
CHRISTIAN LIFE
The Late Prof Abasiattai was baptized into the Qua Iboe Church (QIC) of Nigeria in 1953 and was ordained Elder of QIC in October 1995.
In 2008, late Prof Abasiattai authored a book titled “ The African Pentecost- in QIC Nigeria 1927 and After” – The book describes the move of the Holy Spirit and the experiences of many Ibibio Christian converts in the early days of QIC in Nigeria.
Prof was until his passing-on, the Chairman Church Committee, Qua Iboe Church, Use-Offot, Uyo.

My thoughts of you...
Daddy yesterday as I sat in my lonely house my thoughts slipped to you. I remembered your last days on earth and my childhood dsys with you. I wished some part of it would come back. I held back the tears. It was later that day I saw it was your death anniversary. I love you daddy.
Soul Food Sunday
Today is Sunday. This afternoon we will all have been at our parents for Sunday Lunch which would have been Pounded yam and afia efere. Daddy loved Sunday afternoons with his children and he will tell us many stories. It was always fun at the table, seven of us. We miss you Daddy and relish the good times we had. Thank you for being a great Daddy to us. God bless you
