His Life

Mr. Forest J. Glaze was born on May 8, 1958 in Chambers County, Alabama to the parentage of Mathis and Elizabeth Thomas Glaze. Jerome had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. He had a large base of dedicated friends and was known for speaking positivity into their lives.

Jerome joined Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Cusseta, Alabama at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Dr. E. D. Porter. He sang with the male chorus, served as an usher and as a Deacon. He later joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in West Point, Georgia under the leadership of Dr. W. T. Edmondson where he also served with the Deacons Ministry. He was active in the community and served his community well.

Jerome attended Valley High School and later attended Walker State Technical College. Mr. Glaze also served his country in the United States Army Reserve from 1980 to 1985, receiving an Honorable Discharge. His professional career was in Transportation, as a Truck Driver. During these years, he was employed by West Point Stevens, McClendon Trucking, American Freight Ways, Estes Trucking and Wal-Mart Transportation.

Jerome was an avid sports fan. Often times he could be found in Atlanta, Georgia attending a Hawks or Falcons game—cheering on his team.

He was preceded in death by: his parents and his sister, Keisha Pace. Mr. Glaze departed this life on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in the company of his loving family at West Georgia Hospice, LaGrange, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife, Regina Trawick Glaze, his son, Tobi Johnson, Union City, GA; his daughter, Angel Glaze, Buford, GA; two grandchildren, Brodeigha Johnson and Jesenia Johnson; one brother, Christopher (Cherry) Glaze, Lanett, AL; three sisters, Colinda Diane Williams, Brenda Diane Glaze and Mia LaShun Glaze all of Valley, AL; his mother-in-law, Lula Trawick, Sandersville, GA; brothers-in-law, Jermel Pace, Valley, AL, David (Patricia) Trawick and Clyde Trawick both of Sandersville, GA; sisters-in-law, Annie (Rev. Willie) Wimberly, Valley, AL, Dorothy Turner, Milledgeville, GA, Judy (Joseph) Smith, Atlanta, GA and Donna Trawick, Sandersville, GA; an aunt, Marie (Tony) Harvey; special nieces and nephews to include, Larocco (Cheryltavus) Glaze, Lazanda Glaze, Curtavis Glaze, Ashley Bailey, Candace McDonald and Blake Glaze; a very special caregiver, Donna Trawick; special god-mother, Mrs. Bessie Wright; and, a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
