A Time to Be Born
Michael Eric Magby was born June 17, 1960 to Gwendolyn Elizabeth Magby and Walter Fletcher Floyd, Jr. in Chambers County, Alabama.
A Time to Plant
As a young man, Michael had tenure in the United States Army. Later in life, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined Spread the Word Ministries in 2009. He was employed in the automobile manufacturing industry.
A Time to Love
Michael made his home with his mate, Lucille Askew. He was the father of three children – Shomtay, Brandon and Shamiracle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gwendolyn Elizabeth Magby McCants and Walter Fletcher Floyd, Jr. and his sister, Linda Magby Harris.
A Time of Peace
Michael E. Magby peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Lucille Askew, Valley, AL; three children, Shomtay Summers, Brandon Ray and Shamiracle Magby; four grandchildren, Destiny Ray, Gabrielle Ray, Aleshia Flowers and Mya Ray; nine brothers, Jeffrey (Cassandra) Ashford, Carl (Mary) Ashford, Willie (Barbara) Ashford, Merrell “Bo” Ashford, Demetris Murphy, Mark Laster, Tony Floyd, Walter “Lamar” Floyd and Jeremy “Chad” Floyd; six sisters, Brenda Faye Hill, Doretha “Van” Roberts, Charlotte (Freddie) Trammell, Barbara Jackson, Mary Joyce Madden Core, and Deidra Floyd Coter; nine uncles; Roy (Delores) Magby, Sr., William (Bernadine) Magby, Charlie (Frances) Magby, Willie Floyd, George Floyd, Marshall (Ann) Floyd, James Floyd, Walter Dorsey and Damond Dorsey; five aunts, Mary Hightower, Mary C. Hill, Jennie L. Rakestraw, Sylvia Ivey and Annette D. Dorsett; a special nephew, Roderick Marshall; his step-father, Franklin McCants; mother-in-law, Constance “Kitty Fish” Ray; brothers-in-law, Bobby (Gwendolyn) Gaines, Tommy Sattlewhite and Gregg Huguley; sisters-in-law, Emma (Jerry) Morgan, Melissa Lancaster, Catrina (Shon) Ray, Lizzie (David) Wallace, Susie Ann Barker, Judy Gaines and Donna Huguley; and, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including three special friends, Terry Jo Miller, Timmy Miller and Timmy Floyd.
