Mary Stephens Taylor, 89 year old resident of West Point, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at her residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor will be held Friday, May 31, 2013, at 11:00 AM EDT from the First United Methodist Church of West Point. Reverends Mark McGee and Gil McGinnis will officiate. Interment will be in Marseilles Cemetery, West Point.

The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6:00 PM EDT until 8:00 PM EDT at McCarthy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chattahoochee Hospice or the First United Methodist Church of West Point.

Miss Mary was the mother of my very first "best friend". She opened her home to me for play days and afternoons when my parents needed a place for me to go after school. She truly thought of her home as my home, and of me as one of her children, including me in many family outings. She was one of the most godly women I've ever known. God bless you in your great loss, Neal, Nita and Joe.
