I have been very low emotionally today and couldn’t place my hand on the reason for that state of mind. Yes I have a lot on my table and my mind but I always handle my stuff with divine strength but today really was one that I needed a shoulder to cry on but didn’t want to be a burden to anyone (yes I am human) a dear friend started the pull out by chatting me up and I let it out a bit then my Coach called and I turned the Session to a counseling session. Afterwards I kept asking myself, CHINWE why are you feeling this way? Will you allow the devil have his way in your mind? God has been graciously gracious to you and your family so why this? I didn’t realize it until I got into the car to go home from work and the lightening hit me- Again, you cannot travel to celebrate or even call her to wish her a happy birthday

You would have been 93 years today. You were my conscience, my joy, my love. You left me unprepared but made me grow up overnight. Life changed the day you passed on. You were the first to see me arrive mother earth and I was the first to see you depart. We shared an unusual bond. Mama m. Omenyi nnem. The world's best mother and grandmother. Mother to everyone. TRIBUTE TO A LOVING MOTHER-IN-LAW
Omenyi, Nne Di m, Ezigbo Nnem, I write this today with a heart filled with grief, for this is an irreplaceable loss we have suffered, and will have to learn with every difficulty to live with. But also, my heart is filled with gratitude to the Almighty God for a beautiful and exemplary life you lived.
I will miss you so dearly for a number of reasons, too numerous to mention here, but most importantly, for the acceptance and love you greeted me with the very moment I was introduced to you as your son, Okosisi’s wife to be. And this love and acceptance remained steadfast till your very last.
I came into the Nnama family, and you, with open arms, through this same acceptance and love (despite your numerous children) were able to accommodate yet another – me. I inherited a mother because you made me your daughter. You remained a true mother to me to the very end. Never quick to judge, no matter where a story originated from. And never too proud to say “I am sorry”, regardless of age, gender or class. I know this, because I experienced it from you. In fact, I learnt from your very own practical examples that it is indeed very honourable to do so. Your act of kindness and thoughtfulness to all who came your way would be remembered for always.
With a voice so soft and soothing, yet so FIRM, you fearlessly ran the affairs of the Nnama family like a sweet mother that you were and a soldier you were compelled to be (especially in the absence of your dear husband of the blessed memory), with such tenacity and love. You were simply a very amazing AMAZON.
During my last visit to you, you held my hands and blessed me like you never did before. Little did I know that it would the very last time I would be seeing you.
I may not be able to do all that I saw you do, but I will, through the grace and wisdom of God Almighty, uphold your good ways, works, and legacies.
My husband, our children and I are deeply pained. But then, we have accepted the fact that it is time for you to rest, for your job was very well done and executed.
Therefore Omenyi, may you find that rest in the bosom of the Lord Almighty, till we meet to part no more.

"'Nne Oma'' your death came to us as a shock because you did not show any sign of ill-health when my wife and I visited you few months ago. However, who are we to question the will of the Almighty?
We are consoled by the exemplary life you lived. You were a mother to every one that knew you. You did more for people than they can ever dream of paying back.
You were a great friend to my mother. She used to call you ''Nne Ugonwa''. Looking at your online photo album, tears fell down when I saw you and my father whom you used to call 'Jaaccy''.
Now, you are gone, our Owelle is gone, who will tell us the history of our great heritage? May your soul rest in peace. Amen

Dearest Mama,
Memories of you will always be with me. I always remember your kindness and thoughtfulness of offering those fervent prayers and asking after every of my siblings each time I visited. You were a good mother and rightly invested with the name Nneoma! My mum took you for a mother and a sister, not just because you were both from the same place (Obosi) and married to men from same town (Nibo) but because you led an exemplary life and remained a virtuous woman.

I am glad I had the privilege of sharing those beautiful moments with you and especially the moments to your departure from this plain. The seed of good and prayerful life you sowed lives on. I pray that the angels of light, angels of Jesus Christ welcome you, a pilgrim of light as I light this candle in loving memory of you.

May perpetual light shine on you as you rest in peace. Amen.

Time as they say does not heal all wounds. No matter how old we are, losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. Nneoma, your goodness, caring and wisdom live on..... Like a legacy of love that will always be with us.
My last visit to you was a memorable one. Although memories kept failing you in recognising me but yet you kept saying to me: “Get closer to God and insure you commit all to him for he is able to do all things”. These words of advice were the last I heard from you and they kept ringing over and over in my heart all the way back to Abuja.
Nneoma,
You were our home,
You were the family,
You made Christmas worth coming home,
You kept us together and thought us what love means.
It sadness me that no farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye. You were gone before I knew it, and only God knows why. My heart still aches in sadness and secret tears still flow. What it meant to lose you, no one will ever know.
A woman of extreme strength, courage and love. Who was beautiful, soft and now peaceful and free as a dove. Someone on who our admiration was built around.
Nneoma, we will forever hold in our hearts in which we have truly learned the most from, your strength as a wonderful mother to our mothers and fathers, your ability to hold yourself with such dignity and pride in all your days. Your beauty shines in us all who were lucky to be part of your devoted family.

As you enter your new heavenly home, may you rest in peace for which you truly deserve. You will be truly missed and remembered for your love and honor in which we will preserve.
We love you always and forever.

NNAMAH EJIKE GIBSON.

TRIBUTE TO A RARE GEM (OMENYI)
When death comes, we weep with sorrow.
When death comes, we mourn the loss of our loved ones.
When death comes, we grieve over memories we share with loved ones.
When death comes, we pounder over why these things must be.
How do we accept these things we cannot change?
It was a shocking news, knowing that I will not see you again seated at that your corner, smiling and showering blessings to as many that comes to great you, it made me remember what it was like to cry.

Grandma, we will always have you at heart. I sympathize with my darling friends, your Grandchildren, the Nnites and the entire Nnama family, who I know will forever miss you.
We love you but God loves you more.

Adieu Grandma!
Adieu Omenyi!!
Adieu A Great Hero!!!

Nwunye Nnama, as fondly called had been a blessing to every person that had been around her in her life, whether they were her children (biological or adoptive), her grandchildren, her family members. She was herself every single day of her life, and she never pretended to be anything she was not. She was someone you would look up to for a role model if you were to meet her, and she was someone you would be inspired by. She was a woman of emotions and will forever missed by us that she touched our lives in one way or the other. May her gentle soul rest in the blossom of the Almighty Amen!...Adieu Mama.

"Ogbom" - this was the special pet name you lovingly called me as we both shared the wonderful name Uzoamaka.

Mama thank you for being a great woman who lived such a selfless life. The tales of your good works have spread yonder through the lives of the many you touched. You can only imagine my pride when while at university in FUTO a GS staff found out I was an Nnama and related to you, and kept exclaiming about how good you were to him and his family when he was far away from home living in Nibo. He said you delivered his kids for free in the maternity!

I fondly remember the coolers of jollof rice, chicken and boiled eggs you sent to Nnamdi and I when we were in secondary school in F.G.C Enugu. Indeed SELINA became recognised as the car of goodies by some of our friends. Thanks for being so thoughtful.

Mama to be with Jesus forever is the sum of all happiness. We are thankful you knew him as your personal Lord and saviour. We are thankful you knew him as your friend.

Ogbom uzo gi amaka - Mama do rest in perfect peace in the bosom of our Lord. Amen.

My dearest and best grandma, where shall i begin to tell your story? The great times together, the immeasurable love you showered on me, the great encouragement i got from you and above all the exposure to your best friend Jesus Christ. You were there all the way from the day you received me into this world when my mother delivered me into your caring and loving hands to the day you died. You were the first to see me arrive this earth just like i was the first to see you depart. What great love, honour, privilege and bond.

You lived an invested life. You loved everyone that you ever met. You were the Proverbs 31 woman epitomized. Your shoes are too large for anyone to fill hence i do not think anyone would attempt to.

Your legacy lives on. I thank God for the opportunity to love you, to care for you and to enjoy these wonderful years with you. My best times around any human being were those spent with you. You are irreplaceable. You weathered the storms that kept coming even till you breath your last. You overcame because you are the daughter of a victorious God.

Thank you Mama for everything. Thank you for showing me the best gift in life-Jesus Christ. Thank you for loving me and my family. Thank you for always being at the back of my mind to correct me whenever i strayed or was about to stray. you were my conscience.

My commitment to you is that i will never leave our best friend Jesus Christ. I will love people as much as i can by His grace. I will carry on your legacy and live an invested life like you did till we meet to part no more in Heaven.

I love you and you will always live in my heart. Adieu Nwachinemelu, je ije gi nke oma Omenyi nwanyi; ka omesia Ada Bishop; Chukwu nalu mkpulu obi gi na ndokwa Mama Nibo!!!!

I can still hear her call me "Nwaokwukwe" . The seed you sewed in many will forever be remembered. A mother who couldn't bear to see anyone in pain or tears. She would always look for way to ease your pain. An embodiment of love who shared the last she had with the belief that God would never let her down. One Christmas morning

November 6, 2014

It was Christmas some years ago and i was struggling to get out of bed though my Sister did her best to wake me. Then i heard my grandma calling me- chy-loving, chy-loving. of course i jumped out of bed and ran to her to know why she was calling. Mama told me of one of our relations that was sick and needed urgent attention and mandated me to go round the two compounds to wake all her children that were around for Christmas to contribute money for the person's treatment.

I gladly did. i woke everyone, one by one, house to house, room to room and some were rather not pleasant with their comments but i could not care less because it was Mama's instruction and i had to carry it out to the letter. The sum needed was raised and given to the person. Some gave gladly but others gave out of compulsion because Mama said so. In all, this story reminds me of the true essence of Christmas which heralds the birth of Jesus Christ to save mankind.

Mama understood this need and did not defer the call to help others for after Christmas.  Though she did not have the sum on her at hand, she made sure it was raised one way or the other.

Mama unlike some mothers would call her children, grandchildren and any relation around to help whoever is in need. My experience with some mothers is that they would hide their children and stop them from extending any form of assistance to anyone.  Even when the children give it to them, they will determine how much will be given to the beneficiaries. Most times the beneficiaries do not get 100% of what was given to them.

When i say my grandmother is special, believe me she is so special and unique. God bless her every second for all the seeds of love she sowed. I cannot forget that Christmas in a hurry.

Rip my sweet angel, sweet mother, dearest Omenyi, i love you more everyday
