ForeverMissed

Mr. Ocie Lee Hicks, Jr. was born July 27, 1958 in Chambers County, AL to the parentage of Juanita Davis Hicks and the late Bishop Ocie Hicks, Sr. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Straight Life Church of God, Inc. under the leadership of his father.

“Bama”, “Slim” or “Scar”, as he was affectionately known, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a gift for making people laugh and his presence brightened every room. He enjoyed writing poetry and songs. His favorite saying was “It’s never good bye, it’s always see you later!”
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ametris Lorene Hicks and a brother, John David Hicks.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted mother, Juanita Hicks; a loving companion, Belinda Marbury; three daughters: Natasha (Jeremy) Cole, Shamiya Hicks, and Moesha Hicks, three loving sons: Delarious Bailey, Martavious Bailey, and Laquavious Marbury; a host of loving siblings: Willie (Mary), Sheila, Bertha (Carl), Andre, Rita (Carl), Annie, Paul (Tasha), Paula (Donald), Larry J. and Elnora (Kenneth); nine grandchildren, a loving aunt, Louise Marshall, a host of other relatives and friends.

Please know that our heavenly father sees the grief you are experiencing and he promises to swallow up death forever and do away with all suffering, sickness, and pain. Until that time may he continue to wipe the tears from your eyes. (Isaiah 25:8 and Revelation 21:3, 4)

2011-12-18 17:54:42To the Hicks family, I am so sorry for your loss. Remember the words God promises us at John 5:28, 29 "Marvel not at this for the hour is coming in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life." In harmony with those words we can have assurance that these promises shall come true just as Isaiah 55:11 states. May you continue to be comforted day by day.
