OLUWAYEMISI, A SHINING STAR GONE TOO SOON.

You were truly a shining star, and that's what you were to many of us around you. You were caring, very kind, and loving. Very fervent and diligent in His Service. A peace loving sister that inspired many, including my humble self, to serve the Lord. Single handedly, you built our Family Cell in the Church to an enviable position, and helped in so many ways, financially, morally, and spiritually, to sustain the Family Cell. Leaving us at this time is surely a great loss to us. But at the same time, it is a gain to Heaven. I have no doubt inside of me that you are resting in the Lord. You will be greatly missed by many of us, Yemisi. Rest in the bossom of the Lord, in Jesus name.

Yemisi!!!
I can't believe I'm doing this, but I thank God for He is God alone and doeth as He pleases and His ways are perfect.
I first met you as a teenager in King's Court Parish, (Airport Hotel Ikeja). You were a resourceful girl and everyone knew you were
a dependable team player. You cared for people and maintained contact with a lot of people. You updated me on the mile stones in the lives of our teenagers, their parents and siblings. You never failed to ask me to call them as the need arose as well as follow up. You cried with them and celebrated with them. You were never frivolous and that made me respect you so much.
Thank you for everything you represented at our second meeting at the Fountain of Life Sanctuary, FoLS. I can't forget how you put yourself into building Cell 10 with Bro. Tunde Fadeyibi and his family. You were so consumed in your quest to see others succeed that you created a platform to create awareness and educate people on how to raise funds to build and start businesses. It's a memory I'll not forget in a hurry.
You have left a void in the lives of those innocent children you thought ballet dance.
I miss you already.
Yemisi, you live on in the hearts of those who know you.
Rest on dear.
Aunty Ngozi.

Words fail me. God understands so what's there to say. Last time we spoke was about your fruit juices and dates. I also remember seeing you on stage at Xmas in church with the children when they were presenting. You even called me to ask if you could get some props for the presentation. Rest in peace in the bosom of your Maker. You have ran your race.

TRIBUTE TO MY ABLE ASSISTANT (OLUWAYEMISI OGUNSANYA)

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this tribute.
News of your passing came as a shock to me because we spoke on telephone on the afternoon of Tuesday 9th April 2024. Little did I know it would be our final conversation. You left without saying without goodbye. You left too soon.
You were my Assistant Cell leader in RCCG Fountain of Life Sanctuary. I always called you my able assistant; and it always elicited a chuckle from you.
You were bold, fiery, courageous, principled and highly enterprising (Fruity Flourish).
You were straight forward in character and would say things the way it was, direct and without mincing words. Vintage Yemisi. You were uncompromisingly forthright; a trait which I greatly admired in you.
I could count on you to handle difficult situations among cell members, and you never disappointed.
I remember your response to a fresh graduate who said he was looking for paid employment. You respectfully and truthfully told him other options opened to him, and stirred his mind towards self employment.
You were a giver and cheerfully made your fruit drinks available at various events in Church and during cell activities. You were passionate about entrepreneurship and helping others in that direction, and readily offered and shared relevant information and literature. You loved children and would always organise them to present a dance routine or a play during festive occasions in church.
Above all you loved God and the things of God. He is our comfort and stay in this trying period, and He will comfort Mummy, your siblings, family members and those of us you have left behind.
I will miss you, my Able Assistant. Continue to rest in peace, in the bosom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; until we meet to part no more.

To my best friend Oluwayemisi "Yemzo" Ogunsanya

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.” says the Proverb 17:17. That was Yemisi. We meet in 1992 and have been best friends ever since. Through the years you have always been a confidant, my sister and one of the people I could always be honest with.

Yemisi has always had a heart for God and people. Yemisi never hid her faith and her love for Jesus Christ was evident. She constantly looked for ways to spread the gospel and always has a spiritually advise for anything you can be going through. The one thing that comforts me that our heavenly Father has welcomed his daughter back into his bosom.

As an entrepreneur your passion has always shined through. Your business was more than a job it was a calling. You did everything diligently and never taken any short cuts. You have and will always be greatly admired.

Lastly, I thank God for having the privilege of haven known Yemisi. She was a choice vessel of the Lord. And she impacted the life of everyone who crossed her path.

News of Your death left me speechless and made me ask the same old question how, why suddenly but consoled myself in the fact you have obtained victory over death through Christ Jesus.
I'll never forget your continuous commitment to LP27PHM (Prison & Hospital Ministry LP27) not just in terms of giving but also effectiveness in our operations. The idea of Hosting Partners came from you, you went as far as willing to support with provisions.
We'll miss you beloved Sister Yemisi.

GONE TOO SOON: FLOURISH YEMISI OGUNSANYA

Heaven is rejoicing nonetheless as a beloved Sister of our Lord has returned Home!!!

In all things, the Bible admonishes us to give thanks. Hmmm.

I know we are all still in shock and grieving individually. Discussing it is too painful for most, but we also need to allow for the grief to flow and not bottle it all up.

I still recollect in 1991 with her photographs I took when our daughter Bimbo was born. Yemisi will sneak out from her Staff School at LUTH, Idi-araba early in the morning to watch the daily bathing of Bimbo and will insist my Mom place Bimbo on her laps wrapped with towel after bathing.
Iam too sad with tears to display such photographs that were reserved for her wedding day.

Yemisi Flourishing Flourish as I use to call her was the noble scribe in the Akinwotu family, keeping and updating us with all memorable mementos with beautiful current and old pictures.

That she is gone to glory to be with the Lord is our solace at this very tough time for our family

I grieve with the mother Sister Tolu, her siblings, and the Ogunsanya family at large.

But we do not mourn like them who have no hope. We pray for the ever-present comfort of the Holy Spirit, the soothing words of the Lord, and the warm embrace of the Father more than ever.

We cannot question God. He knows best why Yemisi had to leave us at this time. We love her, but God loves her most.

Adieu, Yemisi: sleep on in the Lord till we meet to part no more.

Yemisi! This is so unbelievable and came as a rude shock. We were so far away yet so close! I find this hard to believe as I think back to when we met in Chemistry department at Unilag, then we both transferred to Economics and even when I relocated you still kept in touch!. I am still shocked to open up your chats. It so sad but God Almighty knows best. May your family and friends be comforted! May God make it easy to bear this huge loss. So hard to say good bye my dear friend! Fruity Flourish! Rest on!

Yemisi,

You exempified unity, kindness, empathy, persistence, best of intentions and courage. They are the things I remember you for. Though you are gone physically, you will forever remain in our hearts.
April 19
Yemisi,

I don't know where to start or how to start but if there's one more thing I've learnt, this time through your departure, is that truly God rules in the affairs of Men, as that's the only way I can make a bit of meaning from this very life we live.

I've always wondered how you managed to wear a smile even when the surrounding conditions dictates otherwise and how you are able to coordinate and organise diverse of things all at once and still smile through it all. I no longer wonder. I now understand. God simply sent His friend to be with us here on earth and when it pleased Him he called that friend home.

Heaven has dealt us a strong hand through your departure, a bitter pill to swallow but the flourish you brought to this world has definitely made it's mark. You're missed and will always be missed.

Sleep on cousin dearest.

Muyiwa.

A TRIUMPHANT SOLDIER INDEED!!!

The sudden transition to glory of our beloved Sister- Yemisi OGUNSANYA is one that’s quite difficult to comprehend. So many questions to ask, yet little or no answers!

You were a very wonderful soul and your life was well lived as you served the Lord without reserve, giving effortlessly and leading fearlessly.

- Serving dutifully while together in RCCG,
- Being so efficient all through our time in UNILAG,
- So dedicated during our NYSC days in IBADAN
- Diligent all through INTERCONTINENTAL BANK days.

1st Thessalonians 4:13
”But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.”

Personally, I can’t believe I’m referring to you in past tense as we still communicated a few days ago, however God knows best! You were always there to celebrate with us all and the news of your death hit differently.

Let’s continually be strong, pray for ourselves and our loved ones and be there for one another as we CARRY EACH OTHER!!!

May the Lord continually FRUITY FLOURISH all that concerns us all in Jesus name.

Remain-in-Him,
April 18
Yemisi, I spoke with you 2 weeks ago not knowing you were bidding me farewell. It is a rude shock. You were such a lovely lady. You gave your best to this world and this generation. I saw another meaning of love from meeting you in fountain of life RCCG. We have lost an angel and hard working lady. The Lord will comfort your family and your loved ones. Sleep in the blossom of your maker. I sure will miss you . RIP

It was always a pleasure to talk with Yemisi. I have known her since high school, and it was lovely to reconnect with her many years after that. I remember she was at my wedding in May 2015. It was always good to open the ISL ‘98 chat window on WhatsApp to see that Yemisi had sent us a word from the Bible - I loved reading those. She always had a kind word for everyone she came across. Saying she will be missed is the understatement of the century. Godspeed, my friend. God knows best!!!

Dear Yemisi...
We shared the same name, without the 'SI'. You were certainly a jovial person. You could mix with anybody across board. You also strived to keep our set together in communication with each other. I used to wonder where you got the zeal to keep posting on Facebook!. Now there's no one to fill that gap. You were selfless. And very consistent. Don't know why life had to end when it just got started. It is well Ore.

When I started the ISL 98 WhatsApp group chat in 2015, it was an idea to bring as many people together as possible and for us to have a space to keep in touch and access an existing network. Yemisi bought into it and ran with it. The successes of the group chat especially coordinating contacts in Nigeria is largely due to her effort. The many alumni reunions both formal and informal were also successful because Yemisi never gave up even when I did and took a break due to personal life issues. We all had a dose of fruity flourish be it in her daily messages or via her business. I knew about cold press drinks because of her. We may not have talked so much in recent years but Yemisi never missed a chance to comment on special occasions. Her vibrant, sweet and can do attitude will be greatly missed. Sun re orewa
