ForeverMissed
Osaigbovo Jamil Ogiamien was born on 26th December 1969 in Benin City. He was the fifth of seven children born to the union of Francis Idahosa Ogiamien (deceased) and Grace Edowaye Ogiamien. Osaigbovo, a scion of the great Ogiamien royal family of Utantan, grew up in a tightly knit family of nine on Ogiso Street in Benin City. Osaigbovo started his elementary education at Emotan Preparatory School and Emotan Primary School and his secondary education at the Immaculate Conception College and at Egba Grammar School in Benin City. He proceeded to the United States in 1990 to further his studies and then to Canada until his return to Nigeria in March 2018. Osaigbovo had a vibrant personality, he was very caring, kind, generous, very funny and sometimes mischievous. Osaigbovo sadly passed away at the Benin Medical Care hospital on 27th March 2021 from a cardiac arrest. Osaigbovo leaves behind his Son Jayden, Mother, Grandmother, Brothers, Sisters, Nephews and Nieces. Osaigbovo will be sorely missed. In death, he is now reunited with our Dad. May your soul and the soul of the faithfully departed Rest in Peace. Amen.

Uncle Jamil was an excellent uncle to me and my siblings. He was so kind and generous, and he celebrated our talents and skills with pride and joy. Even though he is not here with us, he is up in heaven and in our hearts. Rest easy, Uncle Osaigbovo.

As your presence brought smiles and happiness to all you came in contact with, so your departure/absence brought pains to our heart. Rest on........ My good friend like a brother.

Dear Osaigbovo, we (Pa R.O. Osazuwa's children) are saddened and our hearts are heavy in grief.

Reflecting on the bond between our families and knowing your fun and lovely personality - days in Benin, church, secondary school years and a visit to Fosa in Canada with your family.

Our minds hold such lovely memories and wish we got to see you again before this sudden departure.

We pray that the Lord will comfort and strengthen Jayden, mum and your siblings.

Rest in peace brother.

God you need to be questioned. Why do you take away the good people of this world? Ahhhh, this is a big loss. I still remembered the last day, we argued and laughed at each other. Knowing you for two months looks as if we grew up together. You inspired me to be a successful person in life, you taught me so many things in life, I love your style and personality. I look up to you as my mentor, you created a place in your heart for me to live in, You’re irreplaceable in this world, your memories will still be fresh in my heart forever, There’s only one Jegedem and there will never be another. Rest on the great mega superstar❤️❤️❤️❤️

The loss of such a much loved man is unbelievable and so painful.

As a family God's strength and love will guide you through these difficult and sorrowful times.

The pain will become memories of special times spent together.

God bless and remain strong as his beloved family.

My little brother, my heart is sore and I am emotionally shattered from the news of your untimely death.

I am still trying to navigate through what I would like to believe is a horrible dream. I checked on you everyday when you were in hospital. Boy, had I known or had the slightest inclination that the evening of Friday 26th when I video called you, would be the last time I would see you, I would not have hung up that phone. I had been looking forward to speaking with you again on the evening of the 27th when I received the shocking and awful news.

Osaigbovo - you are irreplaceable. Your loss has left a huge void in our family. We are consoled that you are reunited with Daddy and you are now resting in peace. Also, I am consoled by all the beautiful memories we shared from my visits to see you in the US and in Canada with Eloise and Imogen in 2017. I will miss your cheeky laughter, your witty sense of humour and our regular chats about anything and everything. You were caring, kind, generous and sometimes full of mischief.

Adieu my darling brother until we meet again to part no more. We have Jayden and with God’s help, we will look after him to the very best of our abilities.

I love you! Sleep tight brother and may your soul Rest in Eternal Peace. Amen.

My darling brother. I miss you so much. Just cannot believe this is real especially that in less than 2 hours before your demise, we spoke, you made jokes, and we laughed. In that video call, you looked like you were recovering and you sounded stronger than the other 3 days since being admitted. Our cousins were visiting with you at the hospital and I told u to have your time with them and that I will call you later after they leave but for this to happen. Father Lord, this pain is too deep. Be with us Lord and strengthen my mother.
Osai, you were a loving and caring brother. Genuinely nice. You had my back while growing up. I can’t believe I will never see u again in this life. I will always miss you. You have reunited with daddy after 39 years of his demise. May your soul and dads soul Rest In Peace
My dear Jamil ...
This is so surreal

Big bro I never really knew you, but heard alot about you..... Only spoke with you on phone few weeks after you came into the country. though it never happened, we expressed our mutual feelings to get to see each other. One thing I concluded after that call was...this is a man that cares about family. Indeed, you had a very good heart and you loved your family dearly. Rest on in the bossom of the Lord.

Osaigbovo; aka Jamil, Osai, Jegedem

In love, in spirit, and in candor
The life you lived was full of flavor
Kindness and humanity all around you spread
With sorrow and pain your departure has led
Our Heavenly Father who knows best
Who never for a moment rests
Has for you a place reserved
So in comfort your loved ones are preserved.

I am missing you so much already my darling coz. I remember the joys and laughter, the nights in Las Vegas, the trips along the strip, the openings of the champagne bottles, the all night gists about nothing in particular. And then, the last time I saw you in Benin last year, despite the unfavorable circumstances, you still displayed your lavish smiles and made us laugh with so much glee. Rest on my darling, rest in perfect peace. No more aches and no more pains. I WILL LOVE AND REMEMBER YOU FOREVER.

Where do I begin and where do I end?

You were my BEST childhood friend until we were separated by Egba. When you were moved from ICC to Egba we kind of drifted apart because shortly afterwards I left Nigeria to live in the UK and you went to live in the USA.

For many years we lost communication and even when we became reconnected, didn't really engage as we did when we were young men. One of the great mysteries of life.

It was so lovely having those long conversations about our childhood and to catch up with everything that's been going on. Those conversations we had within the last two years made up for all the earlier times we lost.

You were a good friend and brother, and I thank God for making it possible for us to cross paths.

You will be missed but I know you are in a much better place.

Looking forward to seeing you on the other side.

I will have many many toasts..

Adios bro

Osaigbovo Jamil Ogiamien aka Jamil J
My mind still talks to you and my heart still looks for you. But my Soul knows you're at peace.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning That God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly
In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you

You did not go alone For part of us went with you The day God called you home. You left us precious memories
Your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you You are always by our side. Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same But as God calls us one by one The chain will link again.
