What do I say? I owe everything to you: my sense of right and wrong, my sense of what's really important in life, even my life itself. You taught me a lot of things even when you weren't meaning to. You showed me how to love, to work, to laugh, to give of yourself, to learn from your own mistakes, and to forgive. You taught me that no one is perfect and that's the way it was meant to be.

I miss you. But this is only a short goodbye.

Dad, your love and the lessons you taught me mean the world to me and I carry them with me everyday. I’ll never stop needing you but I trust you that you gave me the tools I need to take it from here. I hope I did enough to let you know how much I appreciate you and how much you’ll be missed. I strive to go through life with a shred of the kindness and humor you did. Take care of yourself until I see you again.
