Dear Friend A day late but you were in my thoughts all day yesterday. I was remembering all the Thanksgivings we celebrated with our families and friends. Many of our friends were "immigrants" to the state of Illinois so many of us became our own little family. I will get to spend this Thanksgiving with my two daughters and a few of my grandchildren for which I am very grateful. Will always miss your smiling face and love you always. Olive

I am going through years of cards I've saved and will quote this Valentine card you sent to me in 1990: Things we've done together, Pleasures in the past, Happy times and thoughts we've shared. These are things that last---That's how it is with friendship, and I especially want to say, Your friendship means a lot of me, Regardless of the day!" Your friend forever, Pru Miss you my dear friend

Another year gone by already - seems like they are all whizzing by. The words "Forever Young" seem etched in my memory when I think of you. The FOURTH is right around the corner and I remember the wonderful get-togethers we celebrated. Miss you dear friend - love you forever.

Memories - when I try to pick out the best one of you I find it's impossible - there are so many. Just last week Dick and I were talking about our first "camp out" with the Bernards and celebrating Daniel's first birthday. There was ice on the water bucket when we got up. All eager to start out on our hike - Danny in his yellow snowsuit being carried on Bob's back and trying to keep track of Daphne and Kelly who always seemed to run ahead and out of our sight. We shared so many wonderful times - family get togethers and times for just the two of us. Friendship - what a wonderful word! You were the best.

I still have a birthday card that I never mailed to you. Seems like I just can't throw it away. There's a platter hanging on my kitchen wall that you gave me many years ago. It reads "To the house of a friend, the way is never long". My daughter Kelly has always loved it and has asked if someday she can have it, so it will eventually hang on another wall. She knows that it came from you and how much it means to me so it will be treasured by her also. Miss you dearest friend. Till we meet again.

As I sit here a thousand things run through my mind - from the first time we met, with you very pregnant with Daniel. There are so many times we shared - not all happy ones - but all a part of our lives together. I am so grateful for every one of them. The long talks we shared - our dreams for our kids - what we wanted to do when we grew old. Many of them have come to fruition - some still in the wings. I miss you Pru. You were my dearest friend and sounding board and wise counsellor.

Our Granddaughter Kacie visited her father Rick's grave on Father's Day and left him a card. I found it - soaking wet from the rain - and after reading it decided to bring it home to preserve. Kacie had written, "LETTING GO IS UNDERSTANDABLE; FORGETTING IS UNIMAGINEABLE!" After I read those words I cried - not only for the loss of our son but of others who are engraved on my heart. You are always one of the deepest engravings. Miss you so much.

I am so lucky to have had you. I am so grateful for all that you taught me. I think of you every day. We always seemed to get through things that everyone said that we would not be able to overcome. You did the impossible time and time again. Your faith and love showed in your eyes every day. Your unconditional love still keeps me going.

To Pru - A friend is one to whom you may pour out all the contents of your heart chaff and grain together, knowing that the gentlest of hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping and.....with a breath of kindness blow the rest away. I miss our talks - our walks on the golf course - our yearly visits - your smiling face. Love, Olive

Thank you for all the memories - we shared much together. You cannot be missed more than you were when you moved away. You had and will always have a special place in my heart. Save a place at the table for me - we will be together again.
