January 4, 1927 – September 10, 2017

Ralph Charles Adams, Jr., “Rocket”, 90, of New Castle, DE passed away at Regal Heights Rehab, Hockessin, DE on September 10, 2017 following a brief illness. Ralph was born on January 4, 1927 in Rapho Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to the late Ralph Charles Adams and Ellen Christ Fry (Adams) Witmer.

Ralph attended school in Manheim, PA and joined and served in the US Coast Guard. He spent many years as a car salesman. After relocating to Florida in 1985, he operated his own landscaping business.

Ralph always enjoyed sports, especially watching or listening to the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles games. He enjoyed golf and was an avid bowler having many highlights including 298, 299 and 300 games. He always had a great love of music and was often asked to sing his favorites of Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. In addition, he was a great dancer and shard his love of dancing in these last five years with his companion, Nancy Furman-Hargis. Ralph will always be remembered as a man with a story to tell. Ralph was an active member of The United Methodist Church of Atonement and Post Cana.

Surviving are his daughters, Dawn Massimini (Michael) and three grandchildren of Maryland and Chandlee Chambers (George) and three grandchildren of Delaware, Sister, June Y. (Adams) Smith, three nephews and a niece. Preceding him in death are Brother, Robert Eugene Adams and Sister, J. Arlene (Smith) Bryson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at The United Methodist Church of Atonement at 2:00pm. 3518 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The United Methodist Church of Atonement.
