The one we love never really leave us, they go on to a distant starry and shining place, the sea flow past the horizon and rest upon a shore, the stars fade into morning sunshine, the breeze blow quietly, then flies away to a cool and quiet place. 

Rex your memory lives on. 

                    RIP. 

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this memorial not because we are not all expected to leave this mortal stage at some point but because of the many missed opportunities over the years.

I recall vividly the first time I saw Rex (and Jiggs) in the music room ISI decades ago and I didn’t realize that I was staring, thinking: ‘fiiinnneee’! What I don’t recall is if it was Rex or Jiggs that responded by saying: ‘what are you staring at? Have never seen a Nigger before?!’ We went on to become firm friends but sadly lost touch as we left ISI

I pray for peaceful rest for Rex’s soul and God’s abundant comfort for his dear family and loved ones.

Rex Johnson. Though I had not seen or spoken to him in a long time, it was so sad to hear of his passing. We were childhood friends, our parents were, and still are, friends. When events like this occur it makes one ponder and begin to reflect on the past. Rex's passing brought back so many childhood memories.

I pray you are now resting in peace. May the God of all comfort, the Holy Spirit Himself, bring comfort to your loved ones, especially your mum. A parent must not bury his or her child.
