This is just a little some thing that stands out in my mind about Bob:
He and my mother, Louise Norton Cook, were brother and sister, so as a child my sister Phoebe and I stayed with our grandparents while Mother worked, this gave us a chance to spend some time with Bob.  This was probably around the time he was attending college and I was a young child.  He would come home,  turn a ball game on the radio or t.v. or both , rock in the rocking chair, and I mean rock until it seemed as though he was going to tip right over, read a book, and sing at the top of his lungs.  Now, everyone knows that Bob Norton wasn't a gifted singer, but here's the amazing thing  He could tell you exactly  what was happening in the games on tv, the radio, and what he was reading as well as what was going on around him.  Yes, I had an amazing uncle!
