Rockey Layne Walls, 56 of Long Branch, Simon, WV went home to be with Jesus Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from his residence.
Born January 20, 1959 at Ieager, he was the son of the late Dallas and Dottie (Kennedy) Walls.
In addition to his parents Rockey was also preceded in death by his brother: Davis Walls; niece: Deanna Kennedy; nephews: Martie Kennedy and Punkie Morgan; daughter-in-law: Angela Walls.
Rockey loved singing and talking with everyone on the CB about the bible. He was a member of the Upper Room Jesus Name Church.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Rockey are his daughter: Denetta (Scott) Sowards of Clearfork; his sons: Jonathan (Ashley) Walls of Coal Mountain and Kendall Walls of Rockhouse; sisters: Redith (Virgil) Kennedy and Sandra (Jerome) Brown, all of Long Branch; his brothers: Vencil and Curtis (Clarice) Walls, all of Long Branch, Stephon (Lesa) Walls of Oceana, and Jamie Walls, of the home: his grandchildren: KJ, Caleb, Shanaya, Conner, Jaylon, Brady, Kira, and Reese, who he loved and cherished, each and every one; his daughter-in-law: Betsy Walls of North Springs; his special friends: Jennifer Cline and Janie Young, who he talked with daily on the phone. Rockey also leaves behind a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, who he loved very much.
Friends may gather with the family Monday, April 13, 2015 after 6 pm at the Upper Room Jesus Name Church at Long Branch, with special service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Upper Room Jesus Name Church at Long Branch with the Rev. Brad Kennedy, Rev. Alvin Browning, and Rev. Leroy McMillion officiating.
Rockey will be carried to his final resting place by pallbearers: Jerome Brown, Jody, Shawn, and Jeremy Kennedy, Jay Kenneda, Chris, Stacy, Vert and Robert Walls, Curtis Walls Jr, and Jerome Browning. Honorary pallbearer: Hobert Cline.
Rockey may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
