It was a hot summer. My parents had so much work to do. Mom went to bed exhausted. All she wanted was a chocolate bar. She sent me. To the store away down the country road with a dime. Little did she realize putting an 8 year old child with a chocolate bar would never work. As I walked home a little nibble ,than another nibble until there wasn’t much left. Well IA scolding and her disapproval sent me outside crying. My Dad came along and finding out what happened, he have me a dime covered with the red soil. I was to take it to mom, tell her I found a dime and would go get her ,her bar. So don’t ever give your child money for a chocolate bar,and expect it to last 1/4 of a mile walk home all still wrapped up.
