Passed away peacefully after a brief illness in the presence of her family on April 3, 2014.

Rosemary was born in 1934 in Allentown, Pennsylvania and grew up in Milltown, New Jersey the eldest of eleven siblings. She graduated as a registered nurse from St. Peter's General Hospital School of Nursing in New Brunswick and worked there for several years. Rosemary subsequently earned a B.S.N. from the college of New Jersey.

On New Years Day 1955 Rosemary and N. Ross Matthews were married and they raised our family for most of three decades in Oakhurst, New Jersey. In 1989, Rosemary and Ross started an exciting new chapter in their lives and moved to San Francisco. In recent years they have lived in San Rafael, California.

Rosemary's greatest passion and pleasure was spending time with her family. She enjoyed gourmet cooking and was an avid reader. Rosemary and Ross traveled extensively throughout America, Europe and Asia.

Rosemary is best remembered by her friends and family for her great memory, warm heart and generous loving kindness.

Rosemary was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in San Francisco.

Rosemary is survived by her very loving husband of nearly 60 years Ross, her four children Ross, Greg, Richard, Susan and daughters-in-law Sandra and Yuko and son-in-law Chuck.

Rosemary was also blessed with seven loving grandchildren. Celebration of life services will be held in both San Rafael and New Jersey. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Calvary Presbyterian Church or the American Diabetes Association are preferred.
