Rotimi, it has been an absolute pleasure knowing you. Some days all I want to do is call to run something by you. I take comfort in the days we've shared as family friends and your constant reminder to be happy in every moment. You are missed so much.

He always treated me like an older brother does, always patient and always supportive, with a carefully nurturing duty of care. Orun arinako, eku alejo. Uncle Rotimi was articulate, he was kind and I will always remember the extra twinkle in his smile, it was always obvious, that he had a deeper understanding of the futility or limitations of the rather banal vanities we exerted about. I look forward to seeing you again and may God uphold and sustain your loved ones.

One of my fondest memories as a young believer is the fellowship at Zoe chapel in Jos, where I had the privilege of meeting you. You left an indelible mark in the sands of times. You fought the fight, you kept the faith; you have now joined the cloud of witnesses and cheering us on. Goodnight brother.

Rotimi, I never knew you would leave this soon. You loved God, severed God and now you are resting in his Bossom. Continue to dance, sing and praise God with the angles cos that's what you always love to do. You will be greatly missed.
Adieu Rotimi

Rotex,
huh, am still in shock. I was so convinced we would be seeing this year that I didn't pursue the hollow ness in my Spirit that I perceived when we spoke.
It's weird but am almost certain that am seeing your dimpled smile and signature laugh when you get the best of me. You are full of surprises.
May the Lord help me keep it together bro. We were not prepped to loose you now.
Will always appreciate your love, devotion, kindness and gentleness. It's simple unparalleled and irresplaceable.
Most of all am sorry I didn't see beyond the realms to tell you how much we appreciate and love you for who you are and what you represent.
But this is sure.
You came. You conquered .
And will Rise in the blaze of Glory.
I remember You taught me
'The Efficacy Of Prayer'
Way back in 1990 @ Jos
Today what I am, what I have become cannot be complete
without mentioning you.
Adieu My brother & friend .
Till we meet again in Glory...
 Olokpo.

Rotex!
I am speechless to say the least. I’ll never forget all that you taught me; Valuing people, kindness, carrying myself with dignity, pursuing God relentlessly. I kept getting a nudge in my spirit to call you and never did, now I’ll have to wait till we meet in eternity to see you again. I’ll miss greatly. Good night.

Though life starts, and must end somehow, someday.
We always pray to do well, finish well and leave a good mark in the lives of people through service to God and Mankind.
Rotex, as we called you from the early days at Christ Embassy, Oregun, where we all met and lived to date as brothers.
Yours is one death that shocked me and put some fear in my heart- the fear that comes from not being able to question The Almighty.
You will sorely be missed by all your Friends and Brothers back here on this other side of Heaven.
Your crown is with Him, for Whom you lived and in Whom you died.
Rest on peacefully, my Friend.

Bode

His Life

An Exceptional Man

August 20, 2018

To live is Christ, to die is gain. Philippians 1:22

This scripture could be a conundrum to many, but it is the very essence of the life our brother lived. Rotimi believed that our lives should be lived to Jesus, through Him, for Him, with Him and all must be about Christ our Lord.

To live is Christ. Rotimi understood that as long as he had the breath of life in him, he must live for Christ.  He accurately interpreted the signs of times and went about doing good while it was 'day'.  He challenged us through his life to be purposeful about the work of the Lord, despite our struggles and busyness. He inspired us to believe that we are all called to walk in love and leave a trail of grace and joy wherever we go.

To die is gain.  Rotimi though no longer with us left a legacy behind.  His passing on has become a gain to the heavenlies and a loss to us.  That said, he has left us with the clarion call and a sense of urgency that we must do the work of the Lord while it is ‘day’, because night comes when no man can work John 9:7.  His life echoes the earnestness to draw others into the kingdom so as to enjoy fellowship with the Father and the assurance of life eternal.

Through the details of his life, journey with family and friends and tributes to him contained within this online memorial, we hope you will be inspired by Rotimi’s journey to live a life of significance, loving others as Christ commanded and make a positive difference in this world. Above all, that you will do the work of the Lord until you are called home.
