Roy Taylor Jackson, 77, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Thursday, July 3rd, 2014 at Universal Healthcare.
A native of Granville County, the son of the late Harvey James and Esther Suitt Jackson. He was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church, the Oxford Fire Department for over forty years, theOxford Shrine Club and also worked in the tobacco business for over forty years.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Oxford United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Haley. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-two years, Martha Watson Jackson of the home, a daughter, Beth Jackson Day (William) of Oxford, a son, Harvey James “Jimmy” Jackson III (Teresa) of Oxford, five granddaughters; Taylor, Brittany, Melissa, Meredith and Audrey, two grandsons; Brent and Will. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey James Jackson, Jr. (H.J.).
Visitation will be held Saturday evening July 5th, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times the home.
