Ruby grew up without her mother. She was raised by grandparents after her mother died during childbirth. There has never been a more loving and unselfish person born than Ruby-Mae-Brown. She is loved and highly missed. As a teenager she moved to New York and later settled in California, after her marriage to John. She completed nursing school and worked at Long Beach County Hospital until she moved her job to Bellflower Health Department in 1977. She love pediatrics and could be found working in the Children' Clinic as well as others clinics too. She also was a very good cook, She often cooked soul food for her co-workers. She was especially fond of cooking collard greens. Ruby was active as an usher in her church for over 30 years. Her death was sudden, after a brief and unexpected illness. She is gone before her time, but never forgotten..I love this kind an gentle soul.
