My love to you all today. I think of her warm warm hugs, gatherings in the backyard at the Allentown home, and that beautiful smile. I always felt like one of the grandkids growing up because Ruth and Leroy were so loving and welcoming. My life it's richer for it.

From our days back at Germantown Academy and watching your mom teach the little kids to sings their hearts out, to the Jersey shore and playing card games at night around the dining room table with our mothers, to your wonderful wedding day in Atlanta and all the excitement, and every family celebration and activity we have always loved being there right along side Ruth! Her love of life was infectious. I will miss her dearly.

I shall always remember Ruth's big smile, big hug, and big laugh. She was always ready to find humor and always ready for fun. I have very fond memories of visiting 'the farm' with our daughters. Ruth took her grandchildren and our daughters to feed the fish in the pond, and play in the back yard, and set up the children with boardgames. I remember the wonderful meals Ruth prepared. She always greeted us with open enthusiasm - wanting to know all about what we were doing and what the children were up to and how the church was doing. Also, since both Ruth and LeRoy were from Iowa, and I am from Minnesota, I always felt a connection with the personality and culture of 'Midwesterners'. Ruth added grace and humor and compassion and love to the world - something that the world sorely needs - and something that will be truly missed. Ruth has claimed her baptismal promise. Le Roy, God comfort you in His arms of strength.

As a young teacher at GA, I quickly learned how warm, genuine, and welcoming Ruth was to all. She loved everything about teaching children, and the only thing that brought her more joy was her family. When Ruth became a grandmother, that was the crowning glory! Her happiness was complete, and there was no prouder grandmother ever!
I am so fortunate that Ruth taught my own children. She was a precious gift to them and to me.

Ruth did something so special for me when she learned I did no have any family treasures. She showed up at school with a bag that had a platter and creamer from her mother and a soup dish from her grandmother. She said that I now had family treasures. That was our Ruth...kind and caring and so loving. Sandy Bennett

Ruth was a fun loving, comforting women. She made everyone laugh.
She always walked into GA with a smile and left laughing at the end of the day. I have many fond memories of Ruth especially our drive to Atlanta to see Beth and my niece. She insisted on stopping for food only where she saw a lot of trucks as she felt the drivers knew where the best food was served. We laughed and joked all the way to Ga. and back. The many fond memories I have of Ruth will live on forever.
I am sure she is up in heaven directing the choir of angels and catching up on all the news from those who have gone before us.
