Sandra was a gracious and faithful servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was an amazing cook, loved her needlework, an avid reader, loved working in her gardens, she had a passion to serve others. Always with a quick smile and caring word, Sandra had a way of making all she met feel special. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.

"Dear Andy, I am so sorry for your loss. It broke my heart to talk with you and learn of Sandra's passing. While I never met her, during the roughly thirty years you have been my trusted CPA and financial advisor, you spoke so frequently and fondly of her that I felt as if I knew her myself. I know that she will be dearly missed. Please take care of yourself during this difficult time and let me know if there is anything I can do to help."
I had the pleasure of being in Sandra's Thursday morning quilt group from 2000-2006. Even though I now live in Maine, I think of Sandra often, and was very sorry to hear that she has passed. To me, Sandra epitomized the perfect Southern lady, always with a kind word and a smile. And, her quilts were amazing, showing her grace in every stitch. I will miss her.
"Andy and family - I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your sweet wife Sandra. She was one of the kindest and most gentle spirited people I have ever met and I really wish I had gotten the chance to know her better. If she had days of not feeling well she certainly did not allow that to come through in her attitude towards people. We never understand why God chooses to take his angels home as he does, and it is not for us to question why. But I am most certain he recognized that she had been a good and faithful servant and chose to call her home. My prayers will continue to be with you and your family as you mourn this tremendous loss and as you focus on the days of healing ahead of you."
I use to work with you and Sandra at City Hall many years ago. Sandra
was a lovely person. I remember when you and she became engaged.
She always said that she felt so safe with you.
I remember when Andrew was born. He was such a pretty baby.
He looked just like both of you.
She was fortunate to have three sons and ten grandchildren.
I know they brought her a lot of happiness.
My condolences to you and your family.
"Andy, Ira and family, Words seem so inadequate at a time like this, but we want all of you to know that our thoughts, prayers and love are with all of you.
I'm so sorry we are out of town and can't be there with you right now, but we hold you close in our hearts. Connie and Tom"
"Andy and Family; I know how deep your feelings are just by the way you glowed when you spoke of family during our many years of your guidance on accounting. I only met her on the few occasions I was at your home in Durham. Remember you and your family are in our Prayers. Faith is what gets through times like this. CW, Donna & Tyler"
"Andy, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I am sure you will miss her very much but we do have a wonderful promise of seeing our loved ones again when Jesus comes May God comfort and bless you during this difficult time. Bettie"
"Ira, Michael sent your email to me regarding the passing of your Mother. We are so sorry. You have and will always be a special boy and friend to us, especially to Michael. Nita and Lowell Comstock"

"Andy, I was so sorry to read of your loss in the paper this morning. Even though I am not sure we have met, I dearly loved your Mother and have been forever thankful to you for sharing her memories with me. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. Ann Veazey Davis"
"Andy and Ira, Sandra may have been a twin but she was one of a
kind. A very dedicated Christian, wife, mother, grandmother. Her

Iove you. May God comfort you and give you peace and strength
during this difficult time. Agnes"
