His Life
January 20, 2020
Serafim Lawrence Guerra, Jr. (Larry, Pops), 66, of Shepherdstown, WV was peacefully called home to the Lord on January 18, 2020 with family by his side at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Virginia. He is survived by sons Sean (Jen), Serafim III (Megan) and beloved grandsons Serafim IV (Serf) and Inacio. He is also survived by his seven siblings Tony, Marvin (Marianne), Chuck, Connie, Melissa, Michelle (John) Herndon, Pamela (Gary) Davis, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was born in Washington, DC on May 3, 1953 to the late Serafim L. Guerra and Constance Bell Guerra. He was preceeded in death by his niece Christine Bergstrom. Larry grew up in Rockville, MD and attended Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, VA. He was the owner/operator of his trucking company and enjoyed his position as a bus driver for the Jefferson County Public School System in West Virginia. Alongside his sons, he was a volunteer for the Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department where he enjoyed driving the ambulance.

Larry loved his time with his grandsons and spent many hours cheering for them, as well as their teammates, at various sporting events. He was a passionate follower of Christ, enjoyed talking to others about his faith and led many to our Savior Jesus Christ. He had many endearing qualities which include offering meaningful advice, lending a compassionate ear, a constant supporter of his family and friends but was mostly known for his sense of humor and the ability to put a smile on everyone's face.
