This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Sharyn Hunnicutt, 71, born on October 26, 1945 and passed away on October 29, 2016. We will remember her forever.
Please use this site as an on-going memorial for Sharyn/Sheri/Mom/Nana.  This will be in-lieu of a service.  Add pictures, videos or stories that you would like to share!  I've started this by adding a few pictures and videos.
In-lieu of flowers, please make donations in honor of Sharyn to either of the following organizations:
ABTA - American Brain Tumor Association
NBTS - National Brain Tumor Society
Both of these have helped me and provided a lot of information.

I am so sad today to hear the news about Sharyn's passing. A flood of memories hit me -- wonderful high school times shared and loved. We didn't see each other often after school, but always fell back into our friendship easily. I know how excited she was to be moving close to you and her grand baby Tara. I'm happy she was able to have that time with you. My thoughts and prayers are for you both. She was always special -- and will remain special in my heart. God Bless, Darlene

What a wonderful way to capture your and her friends memories. She had a beautiful smile (thank you for sharing it with us) and she will continue to smile upon you. The heart does go on. Look to your heart she will always be there. We are sending you strength and wrapping you in hugs during this difficult time. Please reach out if you need anything. - The Wrights

I remember Sharyn so well, she was such a good person, and always treated me with such dignity. I wish I could have known her in our "grown-up" years, but I'm betting nothing ever change. I can see in my memory as clear as it was yesterday walking home from school with our books in our arms, and stopping off for ice cream at her house, before I finished the walk home. I will never forget those days.  You will be sorely missed. Thank you for the great memories.

Thinking of you often, Tara! I didn't know your mom but do know she raised a pretty spectacular daughter, so that speaks volumes to the type of person she was. -Sandra

I only met Sharyn once, but knowing what a great person her daughter Tara turned out to be, Sharyn must have been pretty amazing too. I'm so glad she was able to spend the last few years being closer to Tara and Violet. Hugs to all of you.

Im so sorry, sharyn was only the 2nd person i had met after being diagnosed with fibromyalgia back in the 90's. I remember going to badillo to fill in and telling her how nervous i got from driving a different route to work that day, it was pouring rain and there were still flowers on arrow and glendora from an accident we heard a few days before, it was then she told me her story, we hugged and cried and from that time on we hung close whenever i worked over there. I will forever think of her as i alrea fy do wvhen passing that corner or badillo elem.

Tara
I'm so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure working with your mother for a number of years, at Badillo elementary school. She was a joy to work with. I will always remember her smile and her laugh. She would read to the kids and I'd turn into one too with the wonderful stories. She taught me how to crochet, which I do often and at times I can hear her say "Sylvia your tensions to loose or why are you still tieing knots" a big no, no in her crocheting world.. She talk of you often and how much she loved her girl, I lost contact with your mom.. But thought of her often especially when I finished an afghan. My condolences to you and your family

Sheri, you are always in my heart and mind. Each day I see a gift you made for me or a picture you sent. Your little Violet is fourteen now and it seems like yesterday you called to say you were a grandma. How happy you were. We miss your laughter and your smile and your voice but you are always with us. Talk soon again. We love you.

Christmas time is here

December 16, 2016

This is certainly a tough time of year to have mom not here.  But the amazing thing and that which brings me comfort every day is that mom is actually 'here' with us everyday.  Those who have known my mom over the years, know how much she loved Christmas and all that goes along with it: making cookies (with Violet the past few years), giving Hallmark ornaments, decorating like a crazy person! :)
With that said, I realized when I was putting up our decorations, how many of them were given to us by her - she either bought them or made them.  So every where I look in our house, I see my mom and it warms my heart.  So those who may worry about me (or Violet) at this time of year, please don't.  We miss her every single day but she is with us everyday.  ~Tara

Every time I met with your mom she shared stories of you, Tara and of course Violet.

She was a lovely woman.  I know you will both miss her very much.
