It has been one heck of a year, but I know that you've been there to help me through the toughest of times. Celebrating your holiday was a challenge, but with the help of your "family" it turned out fine. You will always be both in my thoughts and in my heart.

I’m still in disbelief, but watching your service brought me peace and comfort. Thank you for being you! Such a loving and selfless person not to mention a great friend. I will forever cherish our talks. I remember you told me to let you know whenever I was in DC because if nothing else you just wanted to hug me. My heart breaks that hug never happened.....but I know we will meet again and when we do, I’ll be waiting with open arms. Love and miss you forever

Shirls,
I am still in disbelief and left with a constant reminder of how short and precious life is. The best memory that I have was the EPIC Deep Creek trip back in 2012 and all the fun that we had. RIP also to Paul and Craig and knowing that you are now reunited in heaven with your love Craig brings me comfort. Praying for all of your family, friends, and those affected by your passing. Rest well.

Been struggling all week to come up with something to say other than damn not Shirls. I was at a loss until I logged into FB and a memory put a brief smile on my face. Its been 7 years to the day that “we” brought Santana home. I say “we” because Shirls found the breeder and set up the meeting and here we are. So I thank Shirls for finding my fur baby and being my friend. Until we meet again.........Rest well my friend

Shirls, I just...haaa look at me. I've never been the one who would be at a loss of words. My "Frick" My little sister Shirls, yeah you got your girl over here crying ugly tears. I'm definitely going to miss our random texts out the blue just to say hey and I love you. In all my years of being a supervisor, I never knew I could grow so close to my employees. You, Nay(Frack), Monie, Britt, and Niq; you ladies are little sisters I never knew I needed. You will be truly missed and every time my Eagles play your "no-name" team (lol), I will think of you.

Love you always. Until we meet again.

Shirls, I still can’t believe it. We didn’t talk on regularly but we stay in contact by way of FB. I won’t forget the first day Craig brought you over for our family dinner. From there the friendship grew. You just help me last month by introducing me to your hometown childhood friend, LeAngela. So she could help me get something from Dayton. That was the kind of person you were. You will be missed by a lot of people. Thank you for your genuine friendship. My prayers goes out to your family and friends. Give Craig a hug for me. Rest In Peace.

My dear friend, of 20 years.... I will miss you greatly. One of the first people I met freshman year of college.....my emergency contact when I moved from Ohio to the DC area...my church partner.....you and Craig gave my puppy Tommy a home when I had to travel too much for work. We cried together every year on December 22 because my Ma and your hubby both passed on that date. There is comfort knowing that you and Craig have been reunited. I love you to the moon and back.

Shirls I am still in disbelief and heartbroken. I will never understand why you left us so soon but memories of you will last a lifetime. One of our last conversations was how you inspired others and made others smile even when you were in your own emotions. We all here on earth are going to truly miss you. My heart aches from the thought of you being gone. We were supposed to meet up this weekend but instead I will be saying my goodbyes. I love you and I hope you know how much you meant to all of us. To know you was to love you and I am glad I meant you and bonded with you. You will forever be missed.

No one can begin to imagine the pain I feel each day that goes by... Trying to remember the good times, with hopes of easing the pain. In so many ways, we were just alike. This is probably why we "clicked" instantly. Wishing for more time...wondering why... She will always be very special to me. I know that she is looking over us all and continues to be an Angel to us. To grab a quote from her that was written on something special she shared with me....

Her Life

Angel on Earth

September 28, 2020
No words can begin to express the love that Shirley had for others, as well as the love we all had for her. She brightened days for many people and made sure that we cherished every moment. She never let anything get in the way of living life, while also inspiring others to do the same. She became a necessity to all of our lives and found a way to build a family from a vast collection of friends. And many of those friends gained new friends through her, because she allowed love to be that contagious emotion that should always be shared for all to experience. Shirley was nothing short of an Angel on Earth….that will continue to touch our lives in the days to come.

I literally flew into Thirty-Great! Long post : First I am overwhelmed with the LOVE that I’ve received over these past 38 Days!!! In addition, to the the Love shown for the August Holiday! The thoughtfulness… I could have never imagined that. I would like like to say thank you to everyone because you didn’t have to. Most people don’t receive their “flowers” until AFTER they’re gone but somehow I got lucky! I’m in absolute awe! I never realize the impact that I’ve placed on you by simply just being me! I’ve cried and laughed! You all are simply amazing! I love you!
