Tributes to Late Sister Bola Oke from Brethren

We thank God for the true Christian life you lived while you were with us. We have mixed feelings at your departure. We truly missed you but we are glad and thank the Most High God that you ended the race strong in the faith. We wish you a peaceful rest in the Lord whom you passionately loved and served. Bye for now until we meet on the resurrection morning.

To our Beloved Mummy Bola Òke:She is unique and amazing in every way, God made a wonderful mother, A mother who never grows old; He made her smile of the sunshine. And He moulded her heart of pure gold; In her eyes He placed bright shining stars, In her cheeks fair roses you see; God made a wonderful mother, And He gave that dear mother to us, that is Late Sister Christina Bola Oke. Jesus called you to GLORY TO BE WITH HIM FOR EVER: NO MORE PAINS, NO MORE TROUBLES AND TRIALS. SLEEP ON UNTIL RESURRECTION WHEN WE SHALL MEET TO PART NO MORE. YOU ARE FOREVER IN OUR MEMORY.

The Late Sister Bola Oke was my Literature student when I taught briefly in Omu-Aran High School, Kwara State, Nigeria. She was then Christiana Bola Oyedepo (CBO). She later got married to one of my best friends in the Church.

Our Late Sister was very kind. For my marriage, she got money for materials only opting to help sew our wedding gown free of cost.

A highly talented member of the Church's choir and orchestra, her sonorous, beautiful alto voice was enjoyed by the entire congregation especially when she sang in a quartet: ''On the Jericho road, there is room for just two''.
Indeed, on her death bed, her husband and I joined in a playback song: ''Jesu ni Balogun Oko, yio mu Oko was gunle (Jesus is the Captain of the ship, He will surely pilot the ship to a safe harbour).
As we were singing though unable to talk, she was conducting with her hand.

Although we surely have missed her physical presence with us here, she definitely is in the presence of Jesus, our Saviour, and her Lord whom she served with all heart. Good night Sister Bola Oke, aya Ajirotutu.
