Sue had tremendous courage, strength, patience and a positive attitude living with Type 1 diabetes for 52 years. Dick's tremendous support was inspiring. My prayers for peace to the entire family. I was an honor to be her "diabetes ARNP" .

What an amazing spirit and inspiration Sue remains in my heart. I have known her since we rode the same school bus, remember watching Dick and Sue's relationship develop in high school and then seeing her infectious smile in grocery stores through the years, and on Sunday mornings the last many years. My heartfelt condolences to all of you who loved her so much.

Sue was such a wonderful person. She always had a big smile. We will miss her this year in Arizona, where we went for jeep rides in the desert. I'm sorry I won't be to the service Sunday.

Holiday Traditions

November 1, 2012
07 A Marshmallow World

Sue introduced me to the holiday tradition, early on when I started dating Michele, in buying each of us a Christmas tree ornament, themed to what we were into at the time.  At the time, I didn't put much thought into it, but as time went on, each Christmas, we'd pull out our ornaments and it served as a reminder of what we truly valued at that time when she gave it to us.  I have a Washington Husky ornament celebrating their one and only National Championship, another that celebrated my football team, the San Diego Chargers, only appearance in a Superbowl and best of all, ornaments that celebrated the births' of both my children.  Now, I can't tell you how much those ornaments mean to me and our family.  It will be especially tough this Christmas, but I'm so thankful that she took the time and expense (with Dicko's help of course) to do that for us.  My holiday tradition contribution to her, Johnny Mathis, of course.  What's Christmas with out it's a Marshmallow World.  This is dedicated to her and the memories, love she gave us.
