Sydney Anne was called to be with the Lord at 4:35pm on June 9th, 2019. She was surrounded by loved ones, plus the thoughts and prayers of so many family and friends.

She has gone to be with her father, Walter Samuel Wilson; mother, Beatrice Swift Wilson; brother, Samuel Edwin Wilson; sister, Bettie Wilson Massey and so many other beloved family and friends that passed before her.

Sydney was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama and attended Birmingham Southern where she met her future husband Jerald T. Moyers. They later married and had four children: Walter Sheridan “Sam” Moyers; James Edwin Moyers; Thomas Allen Moyers and her most precious angel Mary Anne Moyers Walters. She later gained three amazing In-Laws: Son-In-Law, Richard Walters and Daughter-In-Laws: Dr. Paula Davis and Bobbie McGreevy.

Later in life Sydney went back to college at Auburn University, where she received her BA in Accounting at the age of 55 years old. She went to work for the State of Alabama’s Department of Revenue as a Special Examiner (your friendly neighborhood State Tax Auditor). She retired from the State at the age of 74 years old and became a full-time beloved Grandma to Samantha Moyers, Jacob Walters, Evelyn Moyers, Madelyn Moyers, Nicole “Nikki” Walters and her Step-Granddaughters Heather Bellante and Jennifer Schultz.

Her life was further blessed with Great Grandchildren: Jonnie Nakata, Anthony James “AJ” Nakata and Step-Great Grandchildren: Kylie Shultz, Parker Bellante, Jackson Schultz, Addison Schultz and Eli Bellante.

Our Mother is the best Mom we could have asked for. She taught us by example how to love and how to be loved. Her love of God, the USA, music, movies, crafts, animals and the beautiful world around us, is something she passed onto all four of her children. She has always been our Mother first but became our friend as we reach adulthood. We never went a day without knowing we were loved and that she was there for us.

We love our Mom very much and she will be deeply missed.
