Walter Euell Carter Jr., 84, a resident of Oxford, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Duke Medical Center.
A native of Halifax County, the widower of Mamie Ross Carter and the son of the late Walter Euell and Mamie Pepper Carter. A member of Tabbs Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Alcohol Rehabilitation Center in Butner.
A private graveside service will be conducted at Meadowview Memorial Park.
Surviving are five daughters, Dr. Sylvia Beck of Southport, Wanda Eudy (Hugh) of Fuquay Varina, Marvel Baker of Raleigh, June Brooks of Portsmoth, Dawn Wrenn (George) of Wake Forest, four grandsons and four great grandchildren. He leaves behind his devoted dear friend, Eleanor Foster of Oxford.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 – 8:30 PM, Wednesday July 6, 2011 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.
