This website was created in memory of our loved one, Werner Tobler.  Given he did not want a service, we felt this website would be a good way of sharing stories and photos.  You are welsome to post stories (under the stories tab) and photos so his friends and grand daughters can learn more about his wonderful life, friends and relatives.  Feel free to poke some fun at him...he would like that.

If you would like us to post something for you, please email Lisa.

Yesterday we took our daughter to the Marina here in Puerto Vallarta and showed her the spot at the hotel where we first met Werner and Lise. It had been a lucky day for us back then. We remembered the good times we had together during our stay there and the are glad for our friendship! Forever missed.   Tom and Vren

Werner and Figgy

April 30, 2016

We always enjoyed our visits with Pat and Robin, Werner and Lise whether it was a visit to the farm in Armstrong where we were always so welcome or in Terrace when they came up for visits when the Sharples family got together.  We even had a chance to cross-country ski with Werner up at the Larch Hills ski area many years ago!

It brings a smile to our faces when we talk about the story of Werner and Figgy.  Fig was our cat up in Terrace and Werner and Lise were up for a visit with Pat and Robin and they went to Kitimat with their truck and camper to go river fishing for a few days.  They returned from their trip only a couple of hours later when it turned out that Figgy had taken a liking to the back of Werner's camper.  Listening to Werner tell the story of driving to Kitimat and then opening up his camper and to his surprise seeing our cat in the back always makes us laugh.

We will always remember Werner's passion for everything (except for cats!) including his love of fishing and the outdoors, trips to the Yukon and visits with Brooke and Kate.

Love,
Patty, Jamie, Joshua, Aedan (and Fig!)

Memories from Barry and Shirley Gerlib

April 26, 2016

I became a friend of Werners when we “walked the creek” for Fortune Creek drainage – checking for beaver and blockages.  We discovered many mutual interests – cows, calving, haycrops, gardening, and going to Valley Auction.  Werner and Lisa became very good friends of ours.  Werner was thoughtful, generous, humerous – a good person.  We will miss him very much – and that includes “RINGO” our dog.  Everytime Werner visited our house he never forgot the treats for Ringo.  Werner thought Ringo would make a good Whitehorse dog and often said he should take him on one of his visits up north and walk the streets with him.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you,  all the family, at this time.  You have many wonderful memories of Werner.....We all do...

Ringo's going to miss Werner and treat of dog biscuits!
