Barnes, Mr. Willie Gene, a resident of Lanett, AL, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at his residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Lanett, AL, Rev. Louis Upshaw, Pastor, Rev. Donald Lancaster, Officiating.
Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Lanett, AL. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.
His survivors include: his loving and devoted wife, Shirley Ann Barnes, Lanett, AL; two sons, Alex (Serlanda) Hannah, Opelika, AL and Derek (Nicole) Barnes, Lanett, AL; one daughter, Nekissta Williams, Norcross, GA; nine grandchildren, Eric Barnes, Derrick Barnes, Kedarius Barnes, Zyion Williams, Jalen Williams, Travis Asberry, Kendra Williams, Raven Hannah and Parker Hannah; his father, George H. (Mary Helen) Walker, Lanett, AL; nine brothers, Charles Barnes, Howard Barnes, Jr., Griggs (Minnie) Walker, Michael (Carolyn) Meadows, Morris (Gloria) Walker and Norris (Regina) Walker all of Lanett, AL, Homer (Linda) Walker, Waverly, AL, George J. (Blonnie) Walker, Atlanta, GA and Jimmy J. Walker, Clearwater, FL; seven sisters, Shirley Ann Williams, Beverly Ann Smith, Darlene Barnes, Mary A. (Henry) Bailey and Georgia M. Barker all of Lanett, AL, Bobbie (Anthony) Carter, Valley, AL and Jenelle W. Oliver, Atlanta, GA; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Ferrell, Walter Lee Boyd and Curtis Winston; sisters-in-law, Kathleen (Bobby) Floyd, Cassandra Ford, Marjorie Boyd, Martha Boyd, Janice (John) Bandy, Stacey Winston, Karen Winston, Katherine Boyd and special sister-in-law, Barbara Rowe; special cousin, Henry L.
