When I was just a toddler Mrs. Marie lost her first child , Ella. We lived in the old funeral home. My mother took me down to be with the family. My running around and chatter proved to be a little much, so mother took me back to our living quarters. I was there long enough, however to form a bond with Sweet Mrs. Marie. She never forgot our family. Every thanksgiving Mrs. Marie's husband received a turkey at work.  She would not rest until he brought her from Atlanta to Franklin to give us that turkey. I always worried that her family might not have a fine bird like that for their Thanksgiving feast. But that was what she had to give and she gave it lovingly and without hesitation. Every Christmas she always came with a lovely gift for Tommy and me! When my first child came she also showered her with gifts, and then when our first grandchild was born she brought enough cloths to outfit her till school age! You might think I'm talking only about her giving gift, but those were given out of sacrifice on her part. But she never thought of it like that. She did it because of love for our family. Along the way she lost many loved ones, and we lost our mother and daddy. She was right their helping us through the pain. We loved her family, and they loved us! Mrs. Marie never had a lot of material possessions, probably because she loved so many that she gave everything away to other's. I know without a doubt if the need had arisen She would have laid down her life for our parents, Tommy or myself, or our children. She was the most selfless person I have ever known and the Stutts/Cothran family will miss her greatly!  Love you Mrs. Marie. To Mr. Gordon and the family: thank you for sharing her with us. I am praying for you as you suffer such a monumental loss. Love you all!
