A Remarkable Woman and a Life Well Lived

Our Cambridge Club Oak Room colleague of 7 years, Cindy Wang died tragically, on December 25th, 2017 in a fatal car accident while taking her family skiing.

We are asking all who knew Cindy to write a few words in her memory as a keepsake for her son and family.

Cindy was an incredible woman who touched the hearts of all who knew her with her vibrant smile, cheery attitude and overall positive outlook on life.

An industrious woman, Cindy worked tirelessly to constantly create better opportunities for herself and her son Ivan Feng. Despite often working two or three jobs, Cindy was always positive and counted each day and each moment as a blessing. A traveler at heart, Cindy worked hard to ensure that she and Ivan would see some of the amazing landscapes and architecture the world has to offer.

Cindy often remarked on the importance of gratitude and practiced taking the time to enjoy her day to day experiences. Her smile was always bright, her laughter infectious and her enthusiasm for life was inspirational.

With all our hearts, we remember Xin (Cindy) Wang today and always.

Dear Ivan and Family,

Cindy will live on in our memories and hearts. A wonderful person who ignited any room with her smile, energy and passion. Intelligent and intuitive in so many ways.  A tremendous loss and tragedy, that will certainly linger. I hope you find peace knowing that she was greatly loved and respected for her contributions and personality. I offer my sincerest sympathies and support. We will not forget you Cindy.

I was blessed to have a friend like Cindy. She was like a sister to me and her passing leaves a hole in my heart. I take comfort that a bright star is in the sky; reminding us all to be positive and good to each other. Love to Ivan the rest of her family, and all of the people who knew and loved her and are mourning her loss.

I have seen Cindy at breakfast at the Club almost every day since she first started. I will miss her smile, her sense of humour and her never ending pleasant demeanor. We would chat every day at breakfast. I will miss our morning chats. My condolences to Ivan and to all of Cindy's family and friends.

When I heard the news about Cindy's tragic passing I was quite upset. Even though Cindy and I had met on but just a few occasions, she left such an indelible impression. Her positive energy, enthusiasm and charm were magnetic and her smile radiant. She is a beautiful soul, a wonderful person who has been taken from us far too soon. She will be missed greatly. Be strong Ivan and take the time to celebrate, honour and mourn your wonderful mother.

Though I was less of a morning person than previous years, on occasion of an early meeting I would often prepare for meetings in the corner, just outside the wine lockers, often with a coffee. A warm smile and a warm greeting “ can I get you anything Al” was the same friendly words that came out of a smiling face. At functions, the same smiling face. What a sad tragedy. Cindy we will all miss that morning smile. To the family, sympathies and be comforted knowing how we all felt about this Cambridge family member.

Cindy was the sweetest, warmest, most welcoming person. I only knew her by being her guest, but hospitality was clearly Cindy in her element. I haven't felt the same since I heard of her untimely passing. I'll miss you very much.

Over the past 6 years, I've probably been served by Cindy for lunch at least 50 times. At the very least. Not once was there an inconsistency in her wonderful, glowing and positive demeanour. Not once.

My condolences to everyone affected.

The brightest star there is...one in a million. One of the hardest working people I know. Cindy truly lived life to the fullest....with no regrets.

She will be forever missed but never forgotten. Wishing Ivan and his family nothing but the very best.

The Club will not be the same without her.
