Tiwi was only 48 years old when she left us just over two weeks ago.
Tiwi was born in Zimbabwe in December 1970. She is the youngest of three siblings. She came to the UK aged 8 years old and went to Clerkenwell Primary School. She settled very quickly and made good friends. She went on to Cardinal Bourne Secondary School in Broxbourne where she did her A Levels.
When she left school, she went straight into work as a Book Keeper for a Wholesale Company. She took further studies in Business and progressed to work for Butterworths, Camelot, Epson as a Business Analyst and Project Manager. In the latter years she was self employed working as Project Manager / Business Analyst for various leading companies. Her last role was with the Department for Work and Pensions, where she worked as a Job Coach.
From a young age, Tiwi loved her Pop Music. She loved singing too and writing music. She bought me Madonna’s first hit, Holiday. We often had debates about her music tastes since I didn’t much appreciate Pop Music. She loved going to live concerts and can’t tell you how many times she’s seen Madonna Live.
In the recent years Tiwi had been diagnosed as having Lupus. Lupus is an incurable immune system illness. As a result my sister always seemed to have health issues. She suffered from severe migraines, back pains, colds, coughs, and other ailments. She was strong and determined and seemed to be managing. She would go to work as normal while suffering. Only now we realise how much she was pushing herself. Unfortunately it finally led to her passing.
Rest In Peace My Lil Sis. You had suffered enough.
Tiwi will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as being a very bubbly person, she had an infectious laugh. She loved family occasions where she would be centre stage, making sure everyone was fed as well as contributing with some of her marvelous dishes that we all loved. She loved spending time with her friends. From a young age as the bigger brother with a driving licence, I often dropped her round to her various friends.
Tiwi had so much life to live, but I guess the maker had other plans for her. Although this is a tragic event which is extremely hard for all of us as a family and those who have known Tiwi/Yvonne, I am confident she would have wanted us to keep our spirits high, because that’s who she was.
For me she was everything you could ever wish for in a sister, I’m sure in that regard I speak for my Mother, My Sister, her Nephews, Nieces, Uncles, Aunties, Friends and Colleagues.
I’m blessed to have spent 48 years with her in my life. I’m sure the same applies to you all for the time you have shared with my Lil Sis Tiwi/Yvonne.
Rest in Peace My Lil Sister.
Gone too soon. Forever in Our Hearts.
Love and Blessings Tiwirirai Yvonne
Till we meet again.
