Mr. Kaplan, I met him when I was 6 years old. My family and I had just moved into the neighborhood. He an family made it feel more of a home. Mr. Kaplan and my dad helped each other with the house, working on their cars an then he took my dad up in his plane. He was my inspiration for wanting to learn how to fly. He was like a second dad to me. I enjoyed talking with him and he made me laugh. He loved to come in and eat dinner with my family and loved my mom's fried chicken. We had so many good times together. I will never forget not too long ago we went to the market and this older men was flirting with me. He turned around and said leave my daughter alone an stop flirting with her. The man said to Mr. Kaplan, I like you when are you coming back to the market? Mr. Kaplan just looked at the man and laughed. He looked out for me as if I was his own daughter. I look at the house next store to me an remember all the great times we shared as I was growing up. I am so glad, I was able to help and spend time w him as an adult. He will always be remembered an loved by all the neighbors in Mt. Airy. Rest in peace!!!!! Love you dad!!!!!
