Adriana Flores Rodriguez (5th March 1954 - 24th February 2021), also known as "Aury" or "Auring" to family. 

Adriana was born in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines to Domingo Rodriguez and Bibiana Flores. She was the middle child out of 5 siblings. A very close-knit family, Adriana grew up around cousins, aunties and uncles. Even when she moved to England, Adriana remained close with all of her relatives and would visit family in the Philippines as often as she could.

In 1976 at the age of 22 Adriana made the bold decision to immigrate and move to London, England. She worked as a housekeeper for a family in Bicester, Oxford for 3 years.

Adriana relocated to Enfield, London in November 1979 to work as a domestic at Highlands Hospital. She gave birth to her only daughter and child, Alison Jane Rodriguez on the 29th August 1987. They moved into a 2-bed flat in Enfield shortly after Alison’s birth, where Adriana would spend the rest of her life living. 

For the remainder of her career, Adriana worked as a health care assistant at Magnolia for the BEH (Barnet, Enfield and Haringey) NHS. She took pride in her work and loved to care for patients as well as her co-workers. She valued her co-workers as family.

 Adriana’s hobbies included singing, dancing, going to the farm to pick strawberries and vegetables during the summer months and spending time with her daughter, Alison. Adriana loved to travel and visited many places in Europe, as well as travelling to Dubai and America. She also had a love for plants, her money plants being her pride and joy.

In 2019, at the age of 65, Adriana retired from working as a health care assistant and celebrated by taking a vacation to visit her brother in Hawaii.

Adriana volunteered to return to work in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. Her daughter, Alison, would tell her to relax and enjoy being at home, but being stubborn, Adriana still wanted to go and help at Magnolia when they needed her. She loved being around people and always wanted to help look after others. After contracting Covid, early in January 2021, Adriana was admitted into hospital and sadly passed away on the 24th February 2021.

Although she is no longer with us in person, she is here in spirit. I am sure everyone has a fond memory of Adriana singing, dancing or making them laugh and putting a smile on their face. Keep smiling and dancing in Heaven watching over us x
