BIOGRAPHY

PREAMBLE : Realizing the uncertainty of this life, I place full confidence and trust in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who promised:  “I am the resurrection and the life; he that believes in Me, though he were dead yet shall he live; and whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26).

 

BIRTH & PARENTAGE:  On a very short and bright day of 9th Aug. 1955 the Late Sister Affiong Edet Udoefe was born to the family of Nung Iduak family of Ikot Ukpa Itam in Itu LGA, Akwa Ibom State. Her father was Late Chief Edet Udoefe Etuk Udo Antia of Ikot Ukap Itam in Itu LGA, and the Mother Late Mrs. Inyang Udo Akpan Uma in Ikot Ukap Itam all in Itu LGA of Akwa Ibom State.

EDUCATION:  During her childhood day Western Education was not appreciated by many parents. In fact Sister Affiong Edet Udoefe had a slide chance of obtaining her First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in Government Primary School, Ikot Andem Itam in Itu LGA, 1979.  Due to financial constraint she proceeded to acquiring Vocational Skills in various aspect of human endeavour which served her through her career life.  However Mma was enlightened and disciplined and with her faith in God. She used her scarce resources to make sure that all her children were educated to the level they are today.

OCCUPATION: Late Sister Affiong Edet Sampson was a Trader, Farmer and an entrepreneur. She had a great passion for trading, which took her across the nocks and craning of Nigeria.

A Specialist in both commercial and domestic agricultural products and services, she was an intensive agriculturist who knew the right proportion of organic and inorganic compounds to apply on routine to her Agricultural Product.  Marketing and distribution of  her agricultural products attracted marketing centres such as Akpet Central Market, Marian Market, Udua Esuk, Udua Esit Ikot  and other neighboring communities to buy and sell to her respective customers.  Indeed she was a virtuous woman who never failed to make adequate provision for the well being of her family.    

 MARITAL LIFE:  Late Sister Affiong Edet Sampson got married to  Mr. Sampson Edet of Nto Esu, Nto Mbuk Village, Obot Akara LGA, Akwa Ibom State. The marriage was blessed with six children, and several grand children to mourn her demise.

CHRISTIAN LIFE:  Late Sister Affiong Edet Sampson embraced Christianity right from youth. She was a member of the Apostolic Church Ikot Effanga District, Mma later change her faith to The Redeemed Christian Church of God ( Olive Branch Parish, CRP1 Calabar). Where she worked earnestly and immensely contributed towards the growth and development of the Church until her demise.

SOCIAL LIFE:  She lived a peace loving and responsible life. She was simple, kind and discipline; she played a great leadership role both in the family, she being the first daughter and in the empowerment of other young upcoming individuals that came across her path of life. She was a member of the Good Women Fellowship (Olive Branch Parish) and a member of the Farmers Cooperative Society, Calabar Chapter.  An entrepreneur with a difference, she was caring, hardworking, dedicated to achieving excellence and above all devoted much love for her kindred.

TRANSITION: The circumstances surrounding her death still remain a mystery since she was responding to treatment in the late hours of Friday 17th January, 2014 at about 2am when it pleased the Lord to call her to eternal home.
