EIder Mrs. Agnes Wariomo lrabor (Nee Akogor) was born on the 28th of October 1939 in

former Mid-Western Region, now Delta State. She was the second child of her Mother. She was born into Pa Egbai Akogor's family in Aligwe, Owa Alero, Delta State. She was married to Late Christopher Kimekwu lrabor, for 30 years. Their marriage was blessed with nine children- Six of whom survive her today and Twenty-five grand - children with Four great grand - children. She had her early education in Kano Northern Part of Nigeria where she sojourned with her eldest Brother- Mr. Joel Akogor and had to return to her hometown when her Brother was transferred back to the South.Upon arriving in Lagos with her husband, she worked at Thomas Wyatt Nigeria and she was very prudent and saved her salary with which she commences petty trading. Being a very industrious and enterprising person, her small business blossomed and expanded into wholesale dealership businesses. Elder Mrs Agnes lrabor was an excellent mother not only to her biological children but to their friends, family members and even the youth in the community she lived.


This remarkable motherly attribute earned her the name "Mama" which everyone fondly called her! Mama was very kindhearted and loved everyone around her. She enjoyed interacting with those in her Community and this was extremely easy for her as she spoke at least four Nigerian languages fluently, Ibo, Hausa, Yoruba and her native lka dialect. Mama was often called Mama Sunday (name of her late Son) however, to many, she was also known as Mama Charles, a name ascribed to her, because of her motherly philanthropy care to her community. Her personality as a companionate Mother to all around her naturally lead her into Politics, she grew to be a Woman Leader in the lfelodun local government Area in Sura/Alaba, a position she held briefly as she opted out of Politics on personal volution. Mama always stood for the right of the less privileged and justice was her hallmark. Everywhere she found herself she always had something to offer to the advantage of those around her. For, it is not how long one lives but how well.


Mama used every minute of her sojourn on earth wisely and well. Mama lived a very fruitful life that benefited all who were fortunate enough to encounter her. Everywhere she went and everything she touched, she left better than she found them. She added and never subtracted. She made and never destroyed. Her light consistently shone, and the darkness could never comprehend nor extinguish it. Mama was a woman of faith, a prayer warrior, one who belief in the power of prayer, she strongly believed that one with God is a majority. So, she fought and won many battles in the arena of prayer. Mama will be remembered for her kindness, for her efforts to always be her brother's keeper and her strong resolve to be a mother par excellence -as she lovingly and single handedly brought up all her children upon the demise of her beloved husband over thirty-five years ago. Mama you may be gone but your legacy lives on in the hearts of the many lives You touched. We shall miss you, Mama. We are proud and honored to say that you raised us with love and that we love you, but God loves you More. Mama You are the best!!!! Adieu Mama!!!!
